    This is a lovely historical pub with quaint old English features. When visiting Ashdown Forest, it's a great place to eat and drink. It's very popular and does take reservations. Being traditional, food is served during specific times.

    Food isn't cheap (starters are £6.50-£8, mains are £14-£24), but worth every penny. On a Monday there were lots of locals at the bar, which is always a good sign, and the restaurant was almost fully booked,always a good sign. The food was superb and the service excellent. Will certainly go again.

    This is a cosy pub. Decent country cooking and well looked after beers. We have only tried the Sunday roast, so can't speak for the rest of the menu, but it was very high quality. Obviously local ingredients and a capable kitchen staff. Only issue is it is a little bit cramped inside, and we were sat right next to the fire.

    A great little country pub with friendly and welcoming staff. Food was good with a great menu with plenty of different dishes to choose from. The beers available were very good although there is only a small selection. I would definitely recommend this as a place to eat and drink if you are nearby.

    Wonderful little country pub . Visited today and was made very welcome. All the food freshly cooked and absolutely delicious! Will definitely be back.
