(December 5, 2018, 11:05 am)Beautiful old pub which is both big and cosy! Staff were superb as was the beer. In my opinion the food was very expensive for the quality. Pie did not look homemade and the steak was dry and a bit tough. Best bit was the chips. I'll be back but certainly not for food. Thanks for a nice evening nonetheless
(November 2, 2018, 5:02 pm)Really good quality food. Family friendly for kids over ten. I got the Morroccan vegetable and chickpea pie and it was really great. Ended the day with the creme brulé and that was very well made. We got great service. Overall great experience.
(October 26, 2018, 9:03 am)Found this pub by chance and very pleased we did before it quickly filled up for lunch. It's obviously popular with people in the know as some tables were already reserved. We had mussels in wine and Pernod with a door step of bread and a lump of butter. Absolutely delicious and didn't break the bank at £9.95. Only had one unopened muscle too, so very good value for money. The lemon tart with raspberry sorbet was to die for. If we lived locally we would visit as a matter of course. Large selection of cask beers and wines of the world at very reasonable prices make this a must visit. Staff very polite and helpful. I already envy you locals for having this gem.
