Walking through the woods and den building, walking through the landscaped garden and feeding the ducks, beautiful woodland photography options as well as nature spots and collecting, large play area with climbing, swings, slides, spinning, hiding and adventure with a little coffee and delicious cake stall nearby (admittantly, the most disgusting toilets), but up by Hylands House you have better toilets and a tea room with shops in the courtyard that you can mooch in and gain inspiration and buy merchandise. There is also a creative craft studio which offers various interesting classes. There is ample parking unless there is an event on, then get there early. Oh, and different groups meet up to walk...i saw a pug group recently!
(November 1, 2018, 7:25 am)Good coffee, NOT too expensive BUT NOT cheap either at The Stables Cafe!! Worth going though; remember going to Hylands Park back in the 80's - when I was in my teens and have been back since!!! Love the park and have been going there for walks and coffee the last couple of weeks on Tuesdays, and loved it!! Beautiful park, fresh air and get air in the lungs whilst if you want - having a brisk walk and otherwise!!!! And did you know at Hylands House - they used this in a film as an extra for ' The White House ' about the government in United States of America!!!!! Worth a look; please do go there because it is a beautiful park and one final thing - this is where they held ' The V Festival ' and now ' The Rise Festival '!!!
(October 5, 2018, 2:04 pm)Its huge! Many acres of well kept lawn..the house is magnificent just to look at let alone live in! Kids area with playground also..good place to clear your mind..
(August 22, 2018, 9:38 am)I've been coming here for many years, and have always loved it! Lovely outdoor area for nice family walks, the castle park that's fairly new is brilliant, I love how different it is from other parks. The gardens are absolutely beautiful and are always so clean and well looked after, the whole place is in fact! Hylands house is absolutely beautiful as well. Great place to come with your camera! Highly recommend if you're looking for some outdoor family activities

In times of peace, Hylands House was the scene of grand weddings and receptions. Some 700 guests were invited to George V's Coronation. In times of war, it did its duty. Troops manoeuvred on the estate prior to the Crimean war, a hospital was set up in the First World War and a POW camp in the Second.
