“Simon Bridle carried out surgery on my knee recently. I find him to be a straight up, no nonsense type of guy who is very experienced and clearly knows how to handle an arthroscope and whatever other implements he uses to perform corrective surgery. From the first assessment session he suggested a path to find the least intrusive, most efficient course of treatment, taking into account my condition and specific circumstances. After later reassessment we went the surgery route which he carried out quickly, efficiently and provided information every step of the way right up to the final post-op review. That included letters to both my GP and physio to keep them informed and which were written in the same, straight-talking, natural style which I very much appreciate. It’s all to easy to appear impersonal and kind of aloof while being ‘professional’, but Mr Bridle gets the balance right In my opinion. He has humility and seems to have a genuine passion for what he does. I could tell this was true after shaking his hand and thanking him for literally getting me back on my feet ...and on the road to recovery. I highly recommend Mr Bridle and thank him for giving me back a full set of working knees!”

“During my time attending the centre I found every single one of the staff to be friendly, helpful, caring, and warm and compassionate, they are a credit to the service and I thank them all for their support and encouragement. I hope they will all understand that I wish to highlight the service and care I received from the people and areas that I had most contact with and who are as follows. Dr. Lofts and Dr. Glees, my Consultants, who were unfailingly warm, personable, thorough, honest and understanding. They took time to engage with me, to explain things to me, made me laugh and treated me like a person, I cannot thank them enough. Priscilla, Charlotte and Debbie, the Receptionists in outpatients, thank you for your professionalism, your warm friendly approach, your help and understanding and treating me like a person. Jackie, Barbara and Katie, the Receptionists in main reception, thank you for your professionalism, your warm friendly approach, your help and understanding and treating me like a person. Atia, the Pharmacist I had most contact with and who responded immediately to my requests for help and explanations. Thank you for taking the time to sit with me and talk to me on my first day of treatment and subsequently. Thank you for your professionalism, compassion and warmth. Steve, Nuclear Medicine, thank you for your personable approach, your warmth and ensuring that, regardless of how busy you were, you took time to pass the time of day with me and treated me like a person. Vicky, the Phlebotomist. Thank you to you and your team for the warmth and patience you showed me and for always being happy to explain things to me when I attended for blood tests and Obs. Keisha (Radiotherapy Service Manager), Jenly, Sharon, Alison, Charlotte, Olga, DJ and Mhariri, the Radiotherapy Team, who I had almost daily contact with. Thank you for your, kindness, warmth, understanding, care, professionalism, compassion and interpersonal skills all of which were outstanding. You spent time with me when I needed it, you listened to me when I needed to talk and you laughed with me. You treated me as a person. I must take this opportunity to say a special thank you to Sharon and Jenly who spent time after many of my Radiotherapy sessions working to minimise the side effects of the therapy and any associated discomfort. Their tenderness, personal skills and care were second to none. I cannot thank all of the Radiotherapy Team enough and I will never forget what you did for me.”

“Fantastic experience. Mr Bulstrode has just concluded a tissue expander surgery for our 3 year old son and our experience at Great Ormond Street has been fantastic. Since the initial consultation to the post surgery, we were constantly communicated with and informed about each step in detail along with any potential risks. It is natural for any parent to be apprehensive about a surgical procedure for a child that young. However, all our concerns were addressed with full open and honest conversations with utmost case and sensitivity. Even the support staff and nurses have been brilliant. It was almost to the point that we were looking forward to the surgery rather that being concerned as we were confident that our boy was in safe hands. Mr Bulstrode has done a fantastic job and I cannot recommend him highly enough. A true professional!”

“Amazing hospital, I came here for Gender Reassignment Surgery at the end of April 2018 and had to spend a week here. The staff were really friendly and lovely, The rooms were kept clean and the food was amazing. Each room had a TV mounted on the wall and En-Suite Showers. I was kinda nervous about this operation but the staff were so lovely.”
