Nice area of deciduous woodland on the North Downs.
Lovely walk through the woods even bumped into the cattle
Very nice place, loads of big cows walking in the wild... Great place for picnics and walks
Cobham Woods is one of the nicest places to walk through in the Medway area. On week days it's quite possible to walk for an hour and not see a sole but weekends are generally more busy. The Mausoleum is situated slap bang in the middle and it's about 1mile from the Cobham entrance or about 1.5 miles from the Strood entrance of the woods near Bligh Way. A fantastic place to get rid of the stresses of every day life, do a little exercise and soak up the outdoors.
Cobham Wood is a great area for walks, bike rides and picnics, with gnarled venerable old sweet chestnut trees that are hundreds of years old. Atmospheric, interesting and changing through the seasons. Superb place. The Mausoleum is only open Sunday afternoon and although it is an interesting almost 'folly' of a building and worth a look you need a bit of energy for the half mile walk from the car park.

Hotels near Cobham Wood and Mausoleum. Ashenbank is a lovely wood located between Cobham wood and Jeskyns, and my dogs love the place. There is an ancient borrow in the middle of the wood which is quite a rarity and there are benches to have a pic nic.
