“We've had dinner at the Royal Oak seven or eight times, now. It's an unpretentious, proper pub, with warm welcome and atmosphere and decent beers, but the star of the show is the food. We've had amazing skate, French onion soup to die for, proper cod and chips, venison that's out of this world, a delicate plaice, and of course, the "filth" burger, which is divine. Not to be missed. You could pay a lot more for much worse food in some of the supposedly top restaurants in London. We're about to move out of the area, and we'll be coming back anyway.”

“Me and my family attended today for an afternoon tea, with 2 children and the need for wheelchair access it is difficult to find a place that is accommodating for these needs. We were extremely pleased with the service provided, nothing was too much trouble and the food was delicious. They were more than happy to swap food items that people didn’t like and were accommodating to dietary requirements I had. A massive thank you to Becky and Christine who made our experience a pleasant one, we will be returning very soon for sure. 5*!”

However even if there are two people we do like a booth as the other seating does not have enough room around the tables.”
