(November 24, 2018, 12:53 pm)Late lunch with family today. Rang The George. "We close at 3pm". Hmmm....no good for us. Rang T.O.B. "Yes, table for 6 at 3pm no problem. Haven't been for some years. Well, such a change. Nice friendly staff there. Ordered food. Served in good time, pleasantly, AND ALL NICE AND HOT. I don't expect we'll revisit The George again.There's no need. T.O.B. will be our first choice from now. Gillian and Eli made us feel very welcome. Thanks to you all. Did I say lovely food? "Lovely food" :-)
(October 31, 2018, 6:14 am)I love a good Sunday roast, and you can't beat the Old Bell in Oxted. Lovely pub, in a great location. Staff are really nice and friendly. Having eaten in a Chef and Brewer before (in the New Forest), I was initially a little hesitant about taking the whole family down for a birthday lunch, but it seems each pub does differ. The Old Bell have a new chef and the food was excellent. I had the seared scallops to start and the lamb shoulder for main. Nothing to complain about, really good food and very well cooked. Will definitely be going back.
