“We love Squires! All kinds of plants for inside and outside plus lots of gift ideas for kids and adults, cards, British and international snacks and sweets. Lots of stuff made/grown in the UK. Delicious meals with clearly marked vegan options in the child-friendly café, very friendly and helpful staff, inside and outside seating. Fun to look around the garden shed display village. We often come just for a coffee without actually needing anything and end up buying something ;)”

“Love it here! The surroundings are rustic to say the least, unpretentious and unspoilt. The owners are so down to earth and friendly, nothing is too much trouble and the extra touches like bringing out glasses and chilled water in a bottle at no extra cost on a hot day are the touches that go a very long way. The food is always fresh and good and the vegan breakfast is one of the most creative vegan breakfasts I've ever had!! RUBYS CAFE is a gem and if you're looking for a no frills, super friendly and peaceful place to eat, do a spot of fishing, read a book, this is the place to go : )”

“Been twice. Once with my oldest daughter and once with my youngest (16 and 11). The food is typical greasy spoon cafe plus a selection of baguettes. Good quality and good value for money. No pretensions but clean and tidy with fairly quick and friendly service. Great location on the A24 at the foot of Box Hill. Good for a wannabe biker like me (just have a commuting scooter!) and great for a day out at box hill to save you the hassle of preparing and carrying a picnic around. Lots of bikes and bikers about but very friendly atmosphere with no hint of aggression so no worries for people there.”

“Well I decided to visit the Tea Room this afternoon bringing 3 others for a afternoon treat out. Was earlier than had booked but was not a problem was made welcomed. Unlimited tea in lovely teapots etc. Wasnt rushed to start afternoon tea. Sandwiches were lovely and desplayed well. Cream teas was served and was also lovely. Staff were lovely not pushy. Well worth a visit. Couldnt fault anything!!!”
