Nice area to walk or cross country ski ... different trails .. ice fishing not too good .. I’ve caught nice char and a few rainbows.. watch for moose if taking hiking trails... Bear in summer!

Fun place to swim and fish

To local youth this is known as "beer can lake". It has been cleaned up and is a family friendly place to visit. There is a grassy spot to sit and a dock to walk out on. There is also a footpath that goes completely around the lake. It is common to see wildlife here. Moose, eagles, fish jumping and huge dragonflies. Fishing is allowed with a license. Many folks swim here for exercise and kayak as well. If you bring your dogs you are supposed to keep them on a leash, but this isn't enforced if your dog is controllable. Turn right onto the dirt road right after you pass the park entrance sign. The gates are locked promptly at 10pm, so dont get stuck. Enjoy a bit of wilderness right here in town.
