(August 29, 2019, 9:50 am)Needed 2 pickup trucks for our yearly fishing trip to Alaska. We lost our old rental company due to company changes they had made and found A-1. They matched the price we had been paying and provided us with just the kind of trucks we needed for our yearly trip. No frills, no problems just what we needed! We will be back next year. No inflated airport fees! Stan you did us right!
(August 6, 2019, 2:03 pm)We paid $720 (£590) for a 6 day rental with a RAV 4. Stan picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel in downtown for free - legend. Vehicle was perfect for our Anchorage-Seward-Denali trip. I’d def recommend.
(May 4, 2019, 12:25 pm)Rented a 15 passenger van from A-1 and had a great experience. Rates were reasonable and they made the process of renting the vehicle very easy. They dropped off the vehicle where we disembarked from our cruise ship and took as back to the airport when we departed Alaska. We spent an extended time in Alaska and they even accommodated our request to change vehicles to a smaller one during our visit. Highly recommended.
(July 26, 2018, 5:11 am)our van broke down in anchorage and we’d been stuck backpacking about 8 miles though the city to trailheads and back to RV parks. as we were gearing up for another backpacking trip we decided maybe it’d be better to rent a car and see some glaciers. i called 4 rental places (no one had anything available with such short notice) before someone referred me to A-1. Stanley answered “yea, i have a car, how long, two days? i have a truck for you, i can pick you up in 5 minutes, where are you?” i said there was one caveat, we have a dog. he said “i have two dogs, where are you, i’ll be there in 5.”
this is a hardworking guy willing to go the extra mile and say yes anytime the big rental companies say no.

studded blizzak tires in winter and 4WD in winter and summer - YES!
after hours pick up - give it a try!
the jeep we rented was the cheapest of all the places we called, including Turo, and most importantly it was available right away. it was a bit rough around the edges, but was clean and took us safely and comfortably from anchorage to homer and back without issue. we were looking for a good reliable deal and got that plus excellent door to door service and fun conversation.
