“I have no idea why this place is rated a 3. It was brought to our attention that a patron who was refused service due to alcohol intoxication was disgruntled and started to spam them with 1 star review (you can see it was around the same time 7 months ago.) Also, the staff at Hightower Pub were told to bash this establishment and spread rumors about the staff in attempts to sabotage their business. It’s really sad. I wouldn’t trust any of those reviews from 7 months ago that only have one review on their profile. The food and service are fantastic. The prices do feel higher, but post Covid times do that. Restaurants cannot survive without raising prices. The atmosphere is laid back and beautiful. I’m a picky, well traveled foodie and recommend this place to all of my friends who come out to Girdwood. The owner, Alexandra takes pride in her restaurant and staff, she makes it very apparent that she was grateful to make it through Covid times and to survive in this industry. I would highly recommend this place, don’t let the bad reviews keep you away. I have been here several times and do not have a personal relationship with the owner. This is an unpaid review of a place that I really enjoy going to and hate to see bashed on by immature people abusing social media.”

“What can i say about this wonderful place? Amazing presentation of the foods, great atmosphere and super friendly waitstaff. Love it. Ordered the jalapeno poppers aka heart attack, for the appetizer. Taste so good, and the presentation is like master chef quality. Then, I ordered the monkey brain , white tuna sashimi, and spider roll for dinner. Amazing food, such a great size portion, we loved it.”

“What used to be a Mom-N-Pop station is now part of an Alaskan-owned chain. The manager is super friendly, and many of the workers are still there from its mom-n-pop days, so it still has the “local gas ‘n groceries” feel to it. Gas prices are lower than competing stations, and it has many of the amenities that locals need, including a laundromat. Great for a quick stop-in to grab snacks while filling up the tank.”

“The directions in Google MAPS to get to the cemetery are WRONG. Once entering the JBER-Richardson gate on D Street, travel 2 miles through 2 round-abouts. Turn right onto 6th Street. Travel 1/4 mile on 6th Street until reaching Davis Hwy. Turn right onto Davis Hwy and travel 1 1/2 miles and the cemetery entrance is on your left. DO NOT USE THE DIRECTIONS ON THIS SITE or you will visit OTTER LAKE and not the cemetery.”

Helpful and knowledgeable staff, fair prices and wide selection of things you actually want to buy. Discovered live rosin vape. Incredible. All local grown. The prerolls were actually rolled well and not too tight. No stress, no lines and easy parking. I’d drive hours out of my way just to come here. “Great place to have for the doggos to go especially in the winter time! There are dog toys and obstacle course for the dogs to play, or just a nice large warm room for them to run around and play with one another. The initial dog fee isn't what I'd call cheap, especially if you're bringing one dog only (but in all honesty when I first heard of an indoor dog "park" I'm thinking why would I pay money for that but AK can get cold - and the pups need indoor play time!) but for a group gathering, it's well worth it! This is my first time here but I think you likely get the whole room to yourself with the reservation - so note - if you are bringing your dog in hopes to meet other dogs, please be sure to contact owner Amy to see if that's an option. They have classes as well! Amy is responsive via her online reservation request form and coordinates all by email. It's easy to go over an hour, just a warning!”

“So much space for the ambassador brown bears, complete with pond and mini cabin. The many viewing areas give visitors great views of the bears playing, swimming, and napping. The elevated walkway is a great addition to both the black bear and brown bear habitats. Good signage. The don’t miss area of AWCC.”

“Good facility. There's a decent amount of weight lifting options as well as several cardio options in the form of treadmill, bicycle, elliptical, stair stepper. They have four small basketball courts and several racquetball courts. 2 Yoga/aerobic rooms. The indoor track is only .1 miles long which was disappointing. Pool door was open though I'm not sure what the hours are without a lifeguard. Overall good facility.”

“Wonderful experience with Builders Choice. I was in need of roofing shingles to do a repair and apparently no one in anchorage carries this type of shingle. Keith at BC went above and beyond to help me out and was able to locate a vendor to ship up what we needed!! After getting denied from multiple other building supply stores it was nice to finally find one that was willing to help me out! Definitely will go there first for anything else I might need in the future.”
