“Rene' is amazing! I credit her constant support, instant feedback and compassion with success breastfeeding my baby. Even though my baby was not diagnosed with a tongue/lip tie in the hospital I knew something wasn't right just by the way she breastfed when we went home. I called Rene', saw her same day and over 5 weeks we worked together to correct a multitude of issues (Tonge tie, tight neck, tight jaw, cracked nipples-you name it) and now we are still breastfeeding at 1 year. Rene' was able to give me so many great resources and also provide reassurance. As a nurse myself, and talking to our pediatrician, lactation consultants are highly trained to help mothers and babies breastfeed. Where as in nursing and medical school we are just taught about the benefits of breastfeeding with minimal instruction/training. I think it's always good to have a great relationship with your medical provider but never underestimate the knowledge and wisdom of a great lactation consultant! Breastfeeding is one of the hardest things I've ever done and there were so many times I wanted to quit, but with perseverance and Rene' I feel thankful I was able to succeed. Thank you!!”
