“This review is for labor & delivery department: I did open adoption with my 3rd child, baby girl. I matched at 19 weeks and never had 2nd thoughts. The adoption agency I chose, made sure to contact Banner medical center informing them of my scheduled induction date and asked if they would accommodate for me and the HAP couple I chose. They were more than willing to and everything worked out perfectly. We arrived on 12/29 (My BDAY :)). The L&D department was practically dead and quiet which made it really nice, there were a few other women but I never saw any of them. The doctor inserted something to ripen my cervix which took 12 hours, started feeling crampy towards the end, she then went on to do the balloon insert, OMG that hurt so bad, fortunately I was glad she broke my water in that process because we never got the balloon all the way in. I was able to walk around the L&D floor during the 12 hours and eat food. Since my water broke, she wanted to let labor pains happen more naturally, I felt the contractions but not much dilation. She then decided to get me started on Pitocin and soon after gave me an epidural. During the epidural, the anithesiologist inserted wrong or missed the point because I was still feeling my contractions, after about 15 minutes the guy had to come back and re-insert it. He was the only person I didn't like, he was kind of rude and you got the vibe of don't talk to me, i'm just here to do my job. He made it in the 2nd time and boy did that stuff kick in immediately, I was in heaven! haha...I was also getting very tired by that time so while they had me resting, she had my legs between this oval shaped ball. I guess it helps with opening my uterus. I slept for about an hour and after an hour of getting that epidural and Pitocin really kicking in, my baby girl was ready to come!! I didn't even know because I was so numb I felt nothing, which is fine by me, I didn't even feel that urge to push. So the nurse rushed to get everyone and all the nurses came rushing in to get ready to deliver this baby. I want to point out, this hospital was extremely supportive of our unique situation in letting the couple I chose stay with me the whole time, I wanted them with me and to experience everything because this was their first time and my now 3rd rodeo. They even gave us the BIG L&D room which was really nice, had a tub pool and lots of space and exercise balls. My daughters head was crowning and the delivery nurse arrived just in time and POP! I didn't even have to push her out, my body naturally pushed her. Out she came and the hospital honored the birth plan I made with the adoption center and my request was dad cut the cord and my daughter went straight to her new mommy. She took off her gown, sat on the couch and they placed my baby on her chest for skin to skin contact bonding time. It was absolutely beautiful. After they were done with all the baby stuff, take foot print, shots, eye drops, they moved the 4 of us each to our own nesting room. I had my own room which was really nice and baby with her new mommy and daddy in a room right next to me. They visited often. I loved my nurse who took care of me after I delivered her, she took very good care of me making sure my belly area was going down and massaging it. She showed me how to use the products I was supposed to use for myself down there, and made sure I had what I needed. The snacks and hospital food was okay, I would definitely recommend bring yummy treats and snacks from home, since this was still around high covid times, they only allowed family members to leave once, after that you were not allowed to leave again, you could but you could not come back in. Also, they did not force me to wear a mask, I chose not to. The couple I chose wore theirs. If I ever have another baby and meet the right man, I would definitely love to deliver again at this hospital. All the nurses and doctors were AMAZING and so sweet!! They made my experience unforgettable.”

“I've been looking for a new pediatric doctor for my kids. I booked with Doc Hatch-Paigott who is new and she was fantastic. Thanks for treating us like people, not a number . She took the time to listen and evaluate.”
