Nice, friendly neighborhood park. They have a great playground set for older kids and another for younger ones. Swings for infants too. Also basketball and racquet ball courts. They are building what looks to be a wonderful splash pad that will be open in time for the hot weather.
The park had an area for younger children, as well as for the older kids. Swings, climbing area, and basketball court were perfect for various activities. Larger green lawn, picnic tables and BBQs and a water fountain completed the area. Great place to enjoy family time.
Great Park except for the fact that it has a complete lack of parking; As in literally no parking area.
The playground equipment is very clean, But the sporting areas are a bit rundown and could use a power washing.
It’s completely surrounded on all sides by suburban neighborhoods so I can only assume that it’s intended to be just for the locals within walking/biking distance.
My review of: Sunset Palm Park. An amazing 8 acre park that has a unique 4 court racquetball setup. It is open air with just a chain fence set up in the back to keep the balls from just zipping out. An informal baseball field is at the North end inviting kids to just gather in and play ball and brings a nostalgic feel to this park.
Parking is along the street. No bathrooms are available at this neighborhood park but the water fountains do work. There are several open air picnic tables, one small covered picnic ramada to the east side and one larger covered picnic ramada between the 2 playgrounds. Wood chips fill both play areas. The play equipment is top of the line. Plenty of ropes and obstacles to climb and navigate through. Also fun spinning toys and spring boards to boost the fun. Lots of party confetti litter the ground under the tree by the large ramada. Other than that it is a very clean park. Dog are welcome at this park. I had to laugh when one sign was written in dogiese. And there are doggie bag stations to help dog owners clean up messes. All in all a very pleasant park to visit and hang out near the local hospital, Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, just up the road from this park. And for Pokemon Go players, this park does not dissapoint.
