“5+ Stars for Double Eagle! I just got back from 3 successful & fun weeks of flying towards my Private Pilot certificate at Double Eagle. I showed up with my Private Written done & some flying in before I arrived...no solo yet, but had been away from flying for so long that I was basically starting at zero. I was a little nervous about that especially in a new environment with a lot of work ahead. But thankfully, Double Eagle was awesome. They exceeded all expectations: the instruction, the aircraft, the facilities, the maintenance and definitely the staff there. Flight training in/out of Tucson is a breeze, so no issues with traffic, airspace or ATC. Tucson ATC are all very professional & patient. Even for a newby like me, I did all my local solo work in & out of there with ease and was very comfortable. My instructor at Double Eagle was Eric Byrne and he's a great instructor. Eric made sure I was completely prepared for everything from Day 1 and prepped for every next lesson. Everything from A to Z operating in/out of Tucson, all maneuvers, soloing, cross-country, phase checks and all areas of study out of the Private PTS in prep ultimately for the FAA oral & checkride. It was a lot of work in a short span of time, but well worth it and a lot of fun. Scheduling with Eric and the aircraft was never a problem as everything is secured on the calendar before you arrive. Maintenance was never an issue as everything was in perfect working order with nothing MEL'd or Inop. Plus, the planes were very clean. The staff is very welcoming and they really want you to succeed (& have fun) in flying. Both Mr. Amalong & Mr. White are super nice and along with the instructors, treat you like family. Thanks to all of them! I 100% recommend Double Eagle Aviation if you’re interested in getting any certificates or ratings.”
