“When my Aunt Jane could no longer live independently at age 80, I was the "sainted nephew" who, along with a wonderful niece on my late Uncle Art's side of the family suddenly dropped everything we were doing to help move Aunt Jane. I had a full time job and 3 little kids in Arlington, VA, and I had to make a quick decision on selecting a safe and caring place to move my Aunt Jane. On one Sunday I visited 5 or 6 adult care homes in Tucson. As I arrived at Connie and Helen's at the end of a long day, I was pretty discouraged about the previous homes I had visited. But I was immediately impressed with Connie and Helen's Sunset Manor. One of the half dozen ladies that lived there was Olive, Connie and Helen's own Mother. That made a huge, positive impression on me as did many other aspects of their positive home and the apparent loving care they gave to their senior lady residents. I was quite impressed with their family room which had an artificial Christmas tree decorated for Valentine's Day! Connie and Helen said the tree got redecorated for each major season or holiday, to help keep their residents oriented to the time of year! Loved that! And my Aunt Jane, who lived there the last 5 years of her life, often remarked about what a lovely place I had moved her to, with Connie and Helen's adult children, grandkids and pets visiting regularly, which my Aunt Jane loved. She had never had children or pets, but she often told me how wonderful it was to be around so much activity, yet she could always go to her quiet private room if she was tired or needed a break. I highly recommend Connie and Helen's Sunset Manor!”
