“We took the trolley up and enjoyed the scenery and the information in the tour. We especially appreciated the strictly enforced mask wearing as we have frail family members at home to protect. Half our group hiked the ridge back down and the rest of us rode back one stop then walked the rest of the way. We had a wheelchair with us and the road was manageable for able bodied people to push it. There were some pretty good uphill sections so we got a great workout. The scenery was so beautiful! We stopped at most of the creek crossings and our chair user was able to get out and walk around a bit. We were a as all SO happy to find somewhere to safely be outside together.”

“Doctor Funk saved my life! For five months, I knew that something was really wrong. I was having symptoms of colorectal cancer and was told that I had Hemorrhoids, a hematoma and other things by SEVEN other doctors. I was hospitalized twice and even then I was told that I would be fine. That wasn’t the case. I was finally blessed enough to have Doctor Funk as my primary care physician. She looked at what had been going on for the last five months and told me that I needed an MRI immediately. I was in excruciating pain at this time. She saw that something wasn’t right and put me on a fast track. I had my MRI the next day. She called me within two hours and told me that I had stage 3 colorectal cancer. My tumor was 10 cm by 71/2 cm. I had a 97% blockage. She was kind and compassionate. She got me in to see a colorectal surgeon immediately. By this time I was shaking uncontrollably because of the blockage. I met with Dr Corning on Monday and had my surgery Wednesday. There’s too much to write here, however, after seven, yes SEVEN other doctors misdiagnosed me, she knew instinctively what was wrong. Doctor Funk not only got it right and got me into the correct treatment, she cared! She’s down to earth, easy to speak with and she’s good at what she does. Dr. Funk knows what she’s doing. I love her. She’s my hero. She saved my life!”
