Nice covered play area. Plenty of picnic tables. There's a pool (not sure if it's open). Unfortunately, the basketball, meeting rooms are all closed. Sitting and going to waste.”

Caballo Loco Ranch LLC

Address: 14475 W Britten Ranch Rd, Tucson, AZ 85736, USA

Rv park Campground Lodging Park

“Interesting remote RV park on what appears to be a former mining area? Daily, weekly, monthly and yearly spots. Some are full hookups, some are dry camping. Community center, trash dumpsters, washroom showers, central fresh water spigots for the dry campers. Seems to be an interesting community of folks that return year after year. Staff was very friendly even to those that showed up without a reservation or prior notice. They found us a spot for a couple nites per our needs. Cell signal is poor for TMobile and Verizon, slightly better with ATT. RV area is rolling ridges and steep sections, this is not a flat RV park. The access road from paved hwy was 7.9 miles of washboard sandy dusty dirt so be warned.”

Ora Mae Harn District Park

Address: 13250 N Lon Adams Rd, Marana, AZ 85653, USA

“Ora Mae Harn park Ramada 1 had clean facilities, no graffiti, everything (electrical & water spigot) worked well. The restroom was close to us, & the playground equipment was shaded well so it wasn't too hot for the kids to play on.”

There is also an all sand beach style volley ball court, a basketball court, pickle ball and tennis courts and a dual sided dog park. The dog park is split into two sides for large and small dog separation. The park is always in pristine condition and the play area is covered for all day play temperatures.”

Bog Springs Campground

Address: Green Valley, AZ 85629, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“We were unable to get a spot earlier last week - April (it's very popular, especially with birders) but the ranger told us to try Monday or Tuesday after noon and we were able to choose from 3 open spaces, though only one would have been available for an RV. People in RVs will happily stay for the 14 day maximum, though you can go down the road to the much more remote Proctor campground and wait for a space to open up. Proctor offers dispersed camping, far from the neighbors, but it's lower elevation and in shrubs instead of trees. At Bog Springs, we noticed that the RV next to the toilet relocated to another spot when we were packing up, so it's not hard to get an ideal space if you have time and patience. We only stayed one night and had a great site in the back (sites 9 &10 by the Dutch John Spring trail are tents only). Each site has 1 or 2 picnic tables, fire pits, access to potable water (wonderful!) and ample trees to shade you or to hang a hammock. The campers across the street were camping in the hammocks. As it's getting hot in April in Arizona, it's lovely to be at this camp site that is in the low 80s during the day when it's 90s in Tucson. It dropped to the mid 40s at night, which was perfect sleeping bag weather. In the morning, we were visited by turkeys and deer strolling through.”

“If you are visiting Arizona this is a must stop!! This is my first time back to Colossal Cave since I was kid. The whole family took the Ladder Tour and our Tour Guide Everett was the best!!! The drive down was beautiful. It was very easy to find and had plenty of free parking. The nature trail was short and sweet and it had a gorgeous view. I highly recommend the Ladder Tour for children 12 and up. Everett made the tour so fun and had so much patience for our kids “million questions”. We learned so much and left feeling excited for our next trip back. Thank you Everett and the gift shop attendants for your kindness and help.”

Rose Canyon Campground

Address: Catalina Hwy, Mt Lemmon, AZ 85619, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Rose Canyon Campground is a lovely getaway into the cool forest. Lovely vegetation and some interesting critters can be found here. Great for a night or two away from the city. It is quite popular so if you're plan to reserve a spot for the weekend do so at least a month in advance. First come first serve spots fill up fast on the weekend too. Due to it's popularity it might be hard to get away from all of humanity, tho most fellow campers are respectful. The facilities are limited (pit toilets and drinking water spigots) but clean and well maintained. The staff here is respectful and courteous. Great spot to camp.”

“This was truly an untouched beauty. After taking some back roads i started to notice the vegiation was happier and more colorful. I checked the map and found i was on the border of the wilderness area. It's nice to well marked or easily accessible but it was a gem of a place to stumble upon .”

Spencer Canyon Campground

Address: Mt Lemmon, AZ 85619, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“The best thing about my stay at Spencer Canyon Campground was the camp hosts, Mark and his wife. They kept the place very clean and were always friendly. Having clean smelling bathrooms was a great surprise while camping. As others have said, some of the sites are very close together but some allow for more space. The views from the higher number sites, 45+ are amazing as you overlook Tucson. From most of the sites it is a little walk to get to where you can park but a few are closer. I had a relaxing and restful stay.”

Proctor Parking and Trailhead
