“It is a cute little place with a good number of crowd even during their closing time. We ordered chicken jhol momo, veg jhol momo, paneer chilli and chicken chowmein. Everything was very tasty. Jhol was very authentic in taste. Loved the chowmein too! I also want to share a very sweet gesture of the owner. We had a very good conversation while in the restaurant. And after knowing that it’s one of our friend’s birthday, she also gave us complimentary mango lassi. I will definitely love to go to this place again next time I am in Berkeley.”

“I’ve never had these before today. Let me just tell you!!!!! The best corn dogs I’ve ever had in my life! So many varieties, great prices and the best customer service I’ve had in a long time. The owners and employees are very helpful, so caring and make you feel like you’re home away from home. Like literally, I could cry because they were so nice! I will be returning often! Please support this local Berkeley business! You won’t regret it. Plenty of easy parking nearby! Did I mention great prices? Your kids will love it too! My daughter and I are obsessed now! They made our dream of having Korean corn dogs that we’ve seen in the shows we watch, come to life and it was so worth it!!!!”

“6/25/22 Today I had the Surf&Turf Burrito wet with salsa verde, this burrito is HUGE! Delicious and filling, don't eat too many chips or you might not finish it? 6/11/22 I tried the Camerones A La Plancha for lunch today, lots of delicious pan fried shrimp, rice and beans, salad and shredded lettuce. 6/4/22 We went there for dinner for the first time. I had the Chile Verde dinner, tender pork and lots of good food! 5/21/22 The Abondigas Soup is really good and tasty with 4 delicious meatballs. 5/8/22 The Birria really hit the spot on a cool spring day! This is a big, filling bowl of beef soup, lots of beef and with the delicious hand made tortillas no room for dessert! 4/24/22 The Super Tacos are just that and even better on Sundays when you can get them with the home made tortillas, they only make the tortillas on Sundays. Just to let every know this is a new restaurant that opened 10-11 months ago. Any reviews older than that seem to reflect the previous restaurant. 4/3/22 I had the street tacos, 4 different fillings, very good! Next time I'll try Super Tacos made with their own tortillas! The owner said that they could make the strret tacos with their own tortillas. 3/20/22 I tried the Carne En Su Jugo, a special dish from the owner's home state of Jalisco and it was delicious! It's a Beef Stew with Bacon, beans and some diced onions and avocado. It also came with some fresh tortillas. They showed me how they made them to order in the kitchen. See the pictures of the process that I took today. 3/13/22 I believe this is a new business that recently opened in place of another Mexican restaurant that closed during the pandemic? So any older reviews shouldn't reflect on El Tapense. 3/13/22 We like the place so much last Sunday that we came back to try some more items that caught our eye on their Menu! First up today was the Vegan Sopa Aztecs, wow, this is creamy and rich soup, more like a stew. Next up was the Abondigas Soup, perfect for a cool and cloudy day. I would order it again when I have had a chance to try other items from their Menu. Last but not least, making a return to the table was the Two Vegan Enchiladas! We can't wait to return next Sunday to try something else from the Menu and we might get to try some fresh house made tortillas! 3/6/22 Our first time eating here at El Talpense. We got there as they opened Sunday. We were drawn to trying out the food since their Menu was 7-8 pages total and included a page of Vegan items, plus everything you would hope to see on a menu for this Mexican restaurant! Single Tacos, Burritos, Huevos Rancheros to entrees and big Combo plates. I had the Chorizo Con Huevo, Al Pastor Taco, chips and guacamole. We have to go back next week to try more items from that big menu. I asked the owner if they are going to have a Vegan version of the Chorizo Con Huevo? They are working on it to get the results same as the one I had today!”

“Love this Cafe to study and eat between classes in. The roasted chicken panini is on another level of flavor and fills you up nicely. The salmon bagel was also quite tasty, and the salads (quinoa in particular) are also very good. The pastries are a bit pricey but very tasty.”

“Urbann Turbann is my favorite Indian Fusion restaurant in the US, hands-down. When I lived in Berkeley, I'd be at Urbann Turbann at least once every two weeks, if not more frequently. The combination of nostalgia-satisfying Indian food, and cost-effective/time-effective to go food proved to be quite useful in the busy life of an undergrad. The staff is always pretty friendly, and will be happy to help you understand the menu if you're not familiar with the Indian food items. The restaurant offers their menu in a build-your-own style, so it's fairly easy to customize their offerings to what you're looking for. When I was in school, I often would order a wrap or bowl, Mango Lassi, and a samosa or two to top it all off. On one of my recent visits, I attempted something like this, and found that it was waaaay too much food for me to eat in one sitting. I guess I just ate a lot more in college? Freshman 15 = Senior 60, amirite? Oh just me? My B. All jokes aside, the restaurant is great. I'd recommend a rice bowl with butter chicken, and customize the rest of the ingredients to your fancy. I like to add the diced jalapenos, as well as the homemade raita (it's worth it, I promise!) Keto/ Low Carb Folks: In the past, I've eaten at Urbann Turbann when I wasn't on a low carb diet, but it's easy enough just to get the same bowl without the rice and fill up on other ingredients. You'll still end up with a ton of delicious food!”

“This place is a solid 4 stars. Not the best burrito ever made, it doesn't have an evangelical following, but a I'm always happy to eat here. Like I'd never say "oh, I'm only 20 minutes from that place, so I'll wait even though I'm starving" but if someone asks if I want to go to La Burrita, I don't worry that I just ate there yesterday so I'm not ready to go back. The bottomless chips are awesome.”

“Decent selection of sandwiches and salads. Bread to go with the salad was so-so the one time I tried the house special but the rest was very good. Unassuming diner-like decor inside.”
