“It's always great to go for a walk to Lake Chabot. Very calming environment and beautiful nature to look at. Love the improvement although I wish the man made lake will be cleaner.”

Live Oak Island

Address: Castro Valley, CA 94546, USA

Park

“Still not sure why you can review an island you're not supposed to be on. Looks great from the water! Don't go ashore.”

El Venado Campground

Address: Castro Valley, CA 94552, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Trashcans. Clean toilets. Fire pit. Abundant parking. A friend had a going away party and just set things up on the picnic tables and folks stopped by when they could. It was convenient, fun and the best part of camping in the backyard combined with the best parts of visiting the wilder corners of Chabot Park. Can't recommend it highly enough, just remember that fires may be forbidden during fire season. It is after all just a grove of eucalyptus trees.”

Anthony Chabot Regional Park

Address: 9999 Redwood Rd, Castro Valley, CA 94552, USA

Park

“Great local park. The park does charge admission to park in the lot or you can park outside and walk in.Nice place for a picnic or group gathering. Just remember the weekends and holidays the place gets packed. This is a great place for fishing from the shore or you can rent a boat. Paddle or canoe. The lake is mainly planted with trout but there are catfish, bluegills, and bass in the lake. The park does charge a small fee for fishing. It also a great place to go for a walk. There is a trail, about half of it paved, that goes around the lake.”

Alameda County Children's Memorial Flag and Grove Project

Address: Lake Chabot Rd, Castro Valley, CA 94546, USA

Park

“A nice walk/hike with a lot of incline and stunning views of the SF Bay Area. The memorial is a nice tribute and I noticed this morning that someone brought a Christmas tree up there so they could celebrate the holidays too. Very nice gesture. I have seen fox roam the area, cows nestled by the trees by the memorial and plenty of birds in the area.”
