Very nice and little less tougher than Stanford avenue gate of the mission peak. One should go for moonlight view in this ohlone trail ????????????
Spring is the Best time to visit mission peak. Perfect climate, greens and amazing view from the top!
Iconic Bay Area hiking trail. Online side trail is considered easier than the Stanford Ave trailhead. It took us about 3 hours to comfortably climb up and down the peak and of course take a few photos along the way.
At the top you will see the iconic pole and must take a photo safely. Stunning views of the Bay Area landscape from the peak. Be careful as you ascend and descend the last 500 meters as it is rocky and inclined.
Less crowded than the other entrance and the views are just as good! The parking lot belongs to the college so there's never been an issue finding a spot on a weekend - But there is a $4 parking fee
Alternative starting point to reach Mission Peak with less crowds and more parking. Park in the garage ($4) and walk over to the trail head. Some tips
- Be prepared for a nice upward climb up to the peak
- Bring plenty of water for you and any pets you bring along.
- Stop and enjoy the view
Note the trail is unpaved and there is a bathroom stop at the mid-point of the hike.
