May Nissen Community Park

This is a really, really nice park. I actually have not seen anything like it. It has a stage area with built in instruments and seating for kids to actually (or pretend) to be hosting a concert. There is a this gadget box "thingy" that plays popular nursery rhymes when you turn it. I should have taken pictures. The only reason I give this park 4 stars instead of 5 is because there was no diversity amongst the kids at play. All of the children look at my son and stared without attempting to engage him. A few even ran to their parent with fear in their face. The kids literally played around him as they appeared to be having a ball and when he attempted to engage, they ran. However, after he seemed to pick up on "not fitting in" he navigated the park on his own and still had a good time. We stayed roughly 3 hours and he still put up a fuss at our departure...he wanted to stay. This park is phenomenal. Great for kids, just needs parents who welcome diversity and encourage children to be kind and inclusive to all.

Love the remodeled park.My gdaughter loves running up the hill and around the moguls made safer with soft material. I don't know what the softer flooring is called.

Very nice playground. I appreciate the use of the large flowers to provide some shades during the hottest hours of the day. The are also a few gym tools that parents can use while their kids play...

We love this park. It clean and has a great location. There are so many fun aspects to the equipment and grounds. Our favorite are the slides and music part. Love Livermore!

Beautiful place structures, tons of parking. Large grassy sports field next to the playground with a basketball court, tennis courts, dog park, library and a community pool. This is a residential area so there’s not a lot of traffic and the playground has a fence around it. Lots of shade to be found here and all the walkways are wide enough for strollers or wheelchairs.
