“My wife, a professional geriatric care manager who had more than 15 yrs experience with referring clients to Silver Oak, chose this facility for my 95 year old mother after she broke her hip and could no longer be alone in her home. She has lived at now Avondale for 18 months. We have seen my mom thrive in a small Skilled Nursing Facility where the staff has been kind, caring and aware of any health changes. During this pandemic, the staff has received additional training per state guidelines and there have not been any positive covid cases among the residents. Family members are now on Zoom every two weeks to get updates from the new administrator who listens to concerns and has made changes to accommodate us and the residents. The administrator is open to suggestions and has acted promptly to make changes. It is difficult for all of us during this time especially communicating through a closed window. The staff helps the residents with our visits and we can see that our mom is receiving excellent care. In a smaller facility, the staff and residents can have a more personal relationship and even small changes can be noticed and addressed more quickly. We are glad she is at Avondale.”
