She teaches her seasonal songs in addition to her lesson books which keeps things interesting for my daughter. She also has holiday treats for her students like pencils, cookies, candy (back to school, Halloween, Christmas, valentines) which is a nice extra touch! My daughter can be shy but she feels comfortable talking to Mrs Egan about piano songs as well as little things about her day. Patricia has always been flexible if we have a sick day or need to change a lesson for another activity. I would recommend her if you are looking for a piano teacher!”

“Riyaaz Music Shop is an amazing store. I’ve been in many times not only to make a purchase of a fabulous, high quality Tabla set, but also to take lessons with the owner Happy. He was kind, patient, and really generous with his time. He really wanted to make sure I left with something I loved and went above and beyond to make sure I tried every single possible Tabla. He also helped me tune up the Tabla set before I left and gave me a tuning lesson. The store is currently only by appointment, but having the one on one time helped me feel less rushed and able to focus on what I wanted to get. I highly recommend this store as they also have great quality harmoniums as well! Definitely planning on making another purchase there soon.”

“Al & the crew here are the nicest folks around! At the onset of the pandemic, I was able to rent the huge warehouse out back (the backlot) for ten days straight to record drums for my album! The recording has a quality to it that I will never forget snd is imprinted on the record forever. Not to mention, each room they offer comes with sound reinforcement & amplification, & you can rent them by the hour. I’ve rented from Al since his days over at what is now called the OMC- he is truly part of the musical tapestry of Oakland. Music in this city is what it is because of the kindness, dedication, and work Al and his crew have put in. I hope to rent from him again soon, and I hope this place never goes away. “An extremely cute record store inside a shipping container with an interesting, yet small, selection of mostly rock. It's small, but not to a fault; the records are curated carefully; the store layout is charming, airy, and accessible, even with multiple people in the shop. They do a good job curating the records. The lady there was extremely sweet and knowledgeable and was playing some great music on display. The prices are extremely affordable; one of the cheaper record stores, especially considering the records I bought are in high demand, somewhat rare, and good condition. They even have a small collection of cassette tapes. Will be returning. Highly recommend this quick stop which is close to an arcade and a couple of cafes.”

“Located conveniently off the 580. Lots of parking in the rear. Street parking is limited. A good selection of mid and entry level instruments. Some Fender guitars, some Ibanez acoustic and electric, apparently some percussion upstairs, including complete kits, although I didn't make it up there. A good selection of accessories, such as strings, capos, tuners, even a few keyboards. Apparently they do rentals also. The guys there were very helpful and answered questions.”

“It is impressive how many people are here from San Francisco and Daly city. I met a few people here while waiting in the checkout line. It is unfortunate that there is not a single Wal Mart supercenter in San Francisco area. This is perhaps one of the reasons why there is so much car traffic between San Francisco and East Bay. It seems there is no problem to have Target, Kohl's or Costco in San Francisco area but not Wal Mart. And, it costs money to get here and pay a bridge toll. I am glad the authorities of Union City, CA recognize the importance of this Department Store in the lives of the average people. In San Francisco, it seems they don't. Perhaps, when the next election occurs in San Francisco, we need to ask candidates if they are ok to allow Wal-Mart to open. Finally, this Wal-Mart is very good. It seems very huge. Everything i wanted i found here for a reasonable price. I could not find what i needed in Target store near San Bruno, CA.”

“Words cannot describe how great my experience with The Furnace Room Studio was. I can't thank them enough for being there for us and absolutely hooking us up. Due to budget constraints were going to leave us with a lot less studio time than we needed, but Slum and from The Furnace Room Studio was unbelievably gracious and essentially donated the remainder of the time that we needed to finish the soundtrack. For someone to believe in this music enough to help us out in that way is one of the greatest feelings I've ever known as a musician and an artist. Because of their generosity our vision was realized. Not to mention the mixes sound AMAZING. If you guys need a studio, The Furnace Room Studio is THE place to go.”
