If you like hiking in wide open spaces, this 4 star is for you. The view is wonderful, but the wind can get strong, and there isn't a ton of shade to start out. There are no garbages, no benches, no bathrooms, and no water. It's right above a little private school, and be careful not to park in their lot. The trail is not paved, so rain=mud. The path immediately is an uphill adventure, and it goes for a short while. Creatures seen here in the past include: coyotes, fox, mountain lions, skunks, opossum, raccoons, cattle, horses, bats...the usual things you find in a large natural land area.
It is an ok trail head. Pretty steep but if you persist the view at the top is stupendous. I've done the hike many times. Quiet, not many people. You get a vie of the whole bay area.
Good place to take a hike...nature is beautiful. Notbtoobmuch to share. Of you like peace and fresh air plus nature then hiking is the thing for you here
Somewhat challenging hiking trail. Steep sections and can be very muddy after raining. Great views once you hit the top.
