Hercules Library - Contra Costa County Library

We love our library. Clean and fun for the kids. The staff are sweet and helpful. First time back after they had closed for COVID19. Everyone in masks. We got a huge stack of books to make up for lost time.

staff is very happy to help - kids needed a book for starting school and we couldn't find it. The staff quickly looked it up and found it within 5 minutes. super organized

They have an excellent selection of books and were categorized accordingly. Their staff was easy to approach and was helpful. Clean and the location was good.

Librarians were friendly and easy to approach. Clean facilities and had various categories of books. Great selection and were very organized.

Not my local library, but I still travel here to study because it’s beautiful (and way better than the Pinole Library). Wonderfully designed to be very open and have a lot of natural lighting. Lots of parking, a nice alcove where you can study outside, and state of the art technology (still waiting for WiFi printing though). There are regulars that visit and it’s nice to see everyone from senior citizens to moms and their babies. The librarians are always very kind and respectful to the homeless (something you don’t always see).
I wish the hours were better, but I understand that that decision is above them. And I wish they had more available outlets! Very limited access. I wish the librarians were a little more aggressive about handling noise complaints — they literally let people have full phone conversations in quiet spaces.
