“I like to bring my dog here to chase the voles which appears to look like a gopher . This is a really unique park I'm surprised there's no signs and no lights in the park its pitch black. I think its cool that people can drive to the top and just chill there, or do illegal stuff. You're not supposed to but everybody does it i saw a mother have a picnic at the top wwith her two children and it was the sweetest thing i had ever seen it was so cute.. regardless of the bad rep this park gets i still want to see stuff added to this park like a play ground and a path with stuff to read about the park and the history of the neighborhood. Fun fact so I found out that that this place used to be the city landfill lmao 🤣 which would explain the big hills and the neighborhood right next to it has a story too in conjunction with the land fill. I still feel like this park deserves a makeover and I think it gives it extra personality”

“Shaver lake is a beautiful spot in the lower sierra national forest where the weather never feels like it gets above 75 and where the scenery is just as beautiful as the weather. Plenty on snow during the winter and a great spot to be on the boat or taking a swim during the summer. The beautiful little town of shaver if full of friendly faces and lots of kind hearted people who also happen to cook some amazing burgers, pizza and a perfect steak however you like it. Overall a perfect little town to visit and have some good times.”

“A fun walk to the lake if you want an easy trail and only half a mile each way. I noticed that there is a restroom by the lake as well.”

“Beautiful spot to camp with friends and family. Our family of 4 was in a tent and our friend's family of 4 were in a tent trailer. Spot 9 is the best spot if you have kids because it has a large space and is right next to the vault toilet (which was kept up pretty nicely). The kids loved exploring the creek that ran through the middle of the campground as well as the large boulders. Great memories made!”

“Nice little neighborhood park. Clean, restrooms are actually open. Tables and grills that havent been vandalized. Nice big playground and little dog area. It is next to a elementary school so do expect it to be full around 2 or 3 pm. Overall a nice park for a fast walk and to spend time with your family.”

“I am a Dodo gardener and everything usually dies that I plant but the great news is that everything I bought here grew beautifully! I took out my front yard and bought about 20 California Natives last spring and they are all blooming right now! I love this place! Even though I live in Visalia I can’t wait to go back. Bonnie is the owner and is an amazing person and very patient with Dodos that have not given up gardening!”

“We love this campsite. Not usually a whole lot of people. Good place for those parents of little kids because the nearby water is a mostly shallow creek. Not a fishing spot. Plenty of big shade trees.”

“Great park. Gorgeous view from our site. There are off road trails and a pretty beach just down the hill, and the bathroom facilities are simple but clean (they had one shower in the one i went into). We went in December and the park was nearly empty. There are fire rings as well, and the site we were in was huge! Some of the sites are pretty unlevel, but ours was fine. The campground is also dog friendly as long as they are leashed. Just a note, There are some sharp turns to get to the park that might be difficult to navigate if you have a bigger rig/rv, but we made it fine with our 35ft camper. Well definitely be going back.”

“I always enjoy a good park. There are always dog families here playing fetch or soccer players. We have seen a few drone and RC airplane pilots in the open field. The trees in the park are still young but if you’re looking for a wide open park, this is your spot. The migratory geese land in the nearby ponding basin Overall we visit this park about 4 times a week”

“Nice Boy Scouts camping place. With many Merit Badges to work in. Some examples are shotgun shooting, climbing, archery, and life saving. Though there are many more. It may seem like a dream but it isn’t because of these following reasons. The tents cabins are a little dirty and small and have bugs. The showers have dead cockroaches but that’s not that bad. Wear shoes in the showers. The food is ok. But it’s actually pretty fun and it’s cool. The staff are all very nice and the campsites are beautiful.”

“We stayed at Swanson Meadows because everywhere else was booked. I'm so glad we chose this campground. The reservable campgrounds were packed! Swanson is a hidden gem. There's only like 8-ish campsites so there's never a ton of people. There's great trails through meadows from the campgrounds. The pit toilets were pretty stinky, but other than that, we loved this site. Very dense conifer cover. We let our dogs run around off leash. We went Labor Day Weekend. Of course we tried to NOT PAY since it's a non-manned campground. Ranger came around and collected money. No complaints though. Small price to pay for such beauty and seclusion. Campsites are far away from each other (most are at least). So glad we stayed here rather than JAMMED PACKED Edison or Dora Belle.”

“Phesant hunts only happen a few times a year. It's SCHEDULED in advance. Not sure what that bad review was about. Sounds like someone is bitter about being a bad hunter. Go ahead. Blame it on the water pumps.”

“Reminded me of old times. I lived across the street from the park. My husband and I had just had our 4th child, our 1st girl. We taught the boys baseball here.”

“Beautiful spot, nice day use area; with clean restrooms, picnic tables and lake shore”
Address: Reedley, CA 93654, USA
“There are restroom, sand, fish, cement and dirt parking lot, you choose where you want to park your car. There are shade for the hot sun. Its a great place to swim and the water are clear. There are also boat launch. There are certain area that are safe for kids to swim however I would highly suggest to keep eyes on the kids because it's a river. I never did walk into the restroom so I can't say anything about it. Occasionally ice cream truck and the Mexican guy who sell snow cones and corn will show up.”
