I could almost recommend driving down the I-5 just to stop here in Buttonwillow. I can whole-heartedly endorse the pupusas as some of the best I've had and the rest of their food is delish as well. They have a permanent truck placement with sun shelter adjacent and Porta-potty nearby.
Crazy Delicious!
Got a pork pupusa 🫓 and carnitas taco 🌮
Definitely enough for one person. $8
I would call and order ahead and definitely take it to go and eat somewhere else. Especially if it’s hot.
There are lots of flies and it’s at picnic tables under a pop up.
Definitely worth it!!
Best stop on a trip from San Francisco back home to Los Angeles. Yes it takes a while because the food is fresh if you want fast obviously go to a fast food chain there’s many of them on the way. We spent so much money on fast food and gas station snack stops. This was the one real meal we had, wish I would’ve found the stop sooner would’ve actually saved much more money and time because the food here really fills you up so no extra stops needed.
The section of the 5 freeway that runs from Santa Clarita to Stockton is very limited in the amount of spots to stop & enjoy some delicious food while traveling. Tita’s pupuseria lunch truck is one of those few spots where you are going to find some delicious food. They serve some really delicious pupusas, tacos and other Salvadoran dishes. The pupusas are made to order so they take a little while to have your order ready. The pupusas are delicious and the salsa & curtido enhances the flavors even more. The tacos are a good choice as well.
Don’t get intimidated by the dirt parking area full of pot holes, delicious food is waiting for you. I always stop here to eat & stretch whenever I can after a long day of driving. Happy travels 😋
The pupusas were highly recommended, so we stopped, even though we had already eaten lunch. Had a pork and cheese pupusa and a champurrado. Food was very good, but as one reviewer mentioned, the wait was a bit long. It was worrying when some of the people who had ordered after us started getting their food. Otherwise, friendly service, and clean tables.
