Reflection Pond (area) a local Chumash site is well worth the hike. About 75 mortar holes, windbreak & stick sharpening area exists at the Northern sandstone rocky outcrops. This area was a historical local Chumash tribal food preparation site. Plenty of wildlife use this location, keep an eye out for rabbits, ravens, coyotes, bobcats, lizards and other creatures. Best times of the year to venture out to this location is late fall, winter and spring. Summer time you'll need plenty of water, nutrition and electrolytes out here. Shade is nonexistent so wear headwear to shade your head and neck, it can get hot out here. The distance is about 5.5mi from the parking lot to reach this site using El Camino Viejo trail. Truly an amazing place. 👍if you've been here.
