Hotel Mac Rae

The rooms are small but they have everything you need, the beds are comfy and the A/C works well. Good water pressure and good water heat. This is exactly across from the beach and is perfectly located for a vacation stay.
The front desk was very accommodating and helpful.
The only thing I would say is don't stay here if you have any walking problems because all rooms are up some steep stairs.

What’s amazing: the proximity to everything Avalon had to offer. Literally walk outside to a beach, shops, cart rentals, and 10 minutes to golf course!

What I really loved was the service here. We checked out Sunday but our ferry wasn’t until 10pm. And they were SO NICE. Let us use the luggage storage and let us shower and use their extra bathroom. It was amazing highly recommend great bang for buck. Could use a jacuzzi/pool but it’s great for what it is

I can't wait to come back...catalina was one of my get away from family...friends...and spouse...specially solo...so much great things you can do in catalina island....but just remember if it's your first time here...remember to reserve your golf car of call your hotel and see if they provide any bike or golf cart service...unless you like to walk then that can be a option as well...but this hotel reminded me of Venice not Venice Beach lol but Venice twds the UK... romantic and peaceful...the people there are nice and friendly very helpful...and the food I love food lol I have tried all restaurants and bars and let me tell you..any drinks you would order here they make sure you feel it on the first alcohol drink lol...food is great never had a bad experience on any restaurants I tried here....can't wait to plan my next coming back get away 🙌🌍🥰

Of course, I wish there were more rooms looking at the water but! It was a great hotel!! Definitely want to stay there again! Great location. Staff was so nice and friendly. They let us check into the room early. We had such a nice time. No elevator. But it's only on the second story so it worked great for us!
