Scuba by Design

What an Incredible experience we had as first time Divers! Our instructor Lisa was next level amazing! She made our whole experience from start to finish an absolute blast. She is so, knowledgeable, kind, patient, helpful, and just an absolute joy to be around! She went above and beyond to make our day of diving so enjoyable. We can’t wait to come back!

Absolutely fantastic experience. Its hard to say enough positive things about Lisa and our Scuba by Design dive experience. On the boat trip over to Avalon the outfit we had booked a boat dive with cancelled our trip due to lack of people. Upon our arrival on the island our hotel put us in touch with Lisa at Scuba by Design and it absdolutely made our trip. We did two days of two tank dives. Lisa's equipment, familiarity and instruction of the dive site, and the between dive accommodation were absolutely world class.

We had an amazing experience from beginning to end and will DEFINITELY be back to dive with Scuba By Design again!!! We were looking to plan a Catalina dive for my partner's birthday and came across their birthday special. The more I looked at their website, the more I grew to appreciate everything Scuba By Design had to offer. I loved their sustainability initiative and custom dive experience (I have over 3000 logged dives under my belt, but my partner is a newer diver so we were looking for someone who could work with both of us!)

Lisa made our experience exceptional from beginning to end. She was flexible with our schedule and able to accomodate the dive plan to what worked best for us. Though the westher didnt originally cooperate with us, there was never a moment in which we felt frustrated or stressed. Lisa did it all!! She surprised my partner with a cake for his birthday, and even catered lunch for us to have between dives. She had great communication at all stages of this process- emailing me prior to our arrival and even checking in as we were chartering to the island. To say I was impressed is an understatement.

She made the entire dive process comfortable for us all and provided us with many options for gear, wetsuits, and dive plans. Though I struggled finding the proper fitting wetsuit- we were never rushed and she made the entire experience stress-free! Everything was set up when we arrived and we didn't need to break down our gear when we finished- she even had a taxi ready for us to bring is back to our charter boat: talk about a concierge experience!

Scuba By Design is an incredible dive operator on Catalina Island! Lisa is a seasoned instructor who cares about her students, her divers, and the environment. She curates personalized experiences for each of her classes and guided dives and she volunteers her time and resources to caring for her ocean community every chance she gets.
