  Topside by NDMK is a wonderful new addition to the Avalon dining scene. I visited about 3-4 weeks after they opened and overall had a really nice experience. The location on the top deck is open, breezy and provides some beautiful views. It's a great spot for a relaxing meal.
  
  The food was excellent - we tried the seafood risotto and chicken piccata and both were delicious. The risotto was creamy and flavorful with a variety of fresh seafood. The chicken was perfectly cooked with a tasty lemon caper sauce (I loved the addition of edible flowers and microgreens).
  
  While the food was great, the service was slow considering there weren't many other customers in the restaurant. It took quite a while just to get our drink order and to place our food order despite ample staff. I understand they just opened and are likely still working out some kinks in the service.
  
  Overall I would definitely recommend Topside and look forward to returning. Once they smooth out some of the service issues, I could easily see this being a 5 star dining experience. For now, the delicious food and beautiful location earn them 4 stars in my book. With a little more time to find their groove, Topside will be one of the top restaurants in Avalon.

  Ate here last night with a huge group. Been coming to Catalina for years. Probably best meal I've had on the island, and with a delicious wine selection. All actually reasonably priced too! And really nice servers/staff. Don't miss this gem.

  Stopped in on a port call. Great views of the bay and people watching from the 2nd floor. We tried the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Shot...yummy! Recommend the Manchego Cheese Croquettes and Shrimp Empanadas.

  Delicious and Fresh food. It Is in the conservancy shop. Amazing view of the harbor. I asked for the glazed salmon, and I am absolutely coming back. Love the atmosphere.
