“The food is always great. The restaurant is calm and has a juke box. The waitresses are kind and helpful. Though the last time I had gone here, a new cleaner seemed to be on some sort of drug and was acting weird. My mom and him had made eye contact and he taunted her asking her "what are you looking at" then ran to the back of the kitchen. Overall this restaurant is great. I recommend the chicken.”

“My wife made us upper-arm bands for our wedding out of silver precious metal clay which is 99.9% pure silver. Unfortunately that makes it soft, and hers had broken in 3 different places over the last few years. We kept having it soldered back together and each time I asked the jeweler if it could be reinforced, such as by soldering in a strip of stronger metal. Each one claimed it was impossible. Finally I looked up "silversmith" instead of jeweler and found Ruben. I don't think he had ever tried soldering on a reinforcement strip (probably because few people make large pieces out of 99.9% silver) but thought it would be possible, so he gave it a try, and it worked great! The strip he added is about 1mm thick and he even polished the strip and ground it down to match the shape of the piece so it's hardly visible, all within about 45 minutes while we waited. Since it was an experiment, he charged much less than most jewelers charged just to solder the various breaks, so we're thrilled. Unfortunately the band broke a couple months later outside the area that had been reinforced. We went back and Ruben's team was able to attach strips along the entire inside of the band so it shouldn't break again. The results look professional and the price was reasonable. The band is obviously stronger now and much harder to bend. Ruben's primary business seems to be big belt buckles that are intricately engraved silver with layers of other metals or enamels on top used to create words or decorations. I've never seen buckles with so many layers and colors. His place is more like a factory than a jewelry shop and isn't geared to walk-in traffic. You can't even tell it's a store from the outside other than one sign. He's got a workshop with a few helpers in the back and it looks like they make a lot of stuff. In front, you won't find any display cases with things for sale, just lots of completed works ready to ship to customers and some non-custom stuff that's lovely and I imagine it's for sale. Lots of belt and horse-tack related items. My only minor complaint was that Ruben is primarily Spanish speaking and that made some of our communication in English harder: We had to explain a couple times that it was 999 silver and we were a little worried if he really understood what we wanted to have done with it. But as I said, he did a great job and we're quite happy. He's much better than about 6 other jewelers we've gone to for repairs.”
