Their classrooms are filled with love and they infuse play with learning so seamlessly. You are able to have a window inside to your child's day with their intimate communication style and tools. They have such thoughtful lessons on letters, numbers, art, science etc. and they teach the kids in such a unique way that they retain information at such a young age. I couldn't imagine a more loving, comfortable, engaging environment for my kids to start their education. Every teacher is 5 stars!”

“My child is in the gifted magnet at Braddock. It's a great program. The kids' academics have been advanced and enriched, with advanced math early on, and enriched English language - they read over a dozen novels as a class, in both 2nd and 3rd grade. My kid was reading at 9th grade lever in 3rd grade. Third grade performs a full-blown Broadway musical - this year it was Matilda. They use advanced software in class, FinalCut Pro and others. They do science fair, spelling bee, and talent show school-wide every year. Most of the teachers work hard to give each kid what s/he needs - I know in 2nd grade the teacher was pulling from several different math curricula to make sure my kid was challenged. There is one class per grade, 2-5, so they stay together as a group and from what I see all the kids in each class play together and are cohesive. The campus needs work - it is not very green - and there is little after-school programming but a new Mandarin Immersion program is starting in Fall 2016 and I believe it is going to make a big difference, bringing a lot of energy to campus. The Principal, Ms Lopez, is very accessible and willing to work with parents so a lot can be done.”

“My 4 yo announced at breakfast: "Mommy, Math is everywhere! Do you how I know? Teacher Bonnie!" Yes we love teacher Bonnie! We are so fortunate to have found teacher Bonnie through Yelp, I want to share our amazing experience and hopefully help other families navigate the stressful preschool selection process. We are almost at the end of our second year with teacher Bonnie and I know that our twin girls are beyond 100% ready for kindergarten. Our kids have never whined about going to school. They think school is this awesome place where you have fun and play -- and play to do ... in Bonnie's incredibly beautiful lush backyard! And through all that playing, they come home knowing how to read, write, do math, name the planets and continents and great artists, sing and dance and create and experiment, clean up after themselves, be kind to others, and be curious about the world. That's teacher Bonnie's magic! Teacher Bonnie runs a unique part time program where the kids are at her school Tue and Wed, and we all go on a field trip on Thursdays. Yes, a new adventure every week! Through these field trips the parents get to connect and form a wonderful community. We help each other out and get together outside of school time. And I have learned so much from watching teacher Bonnie work with the kids on these field trips -- she always strikes that perfect balance between gently providing encouragement and firmly providing boundaries. Last but not least her assistant teachers Robin and Sara are just amazing educators and people. They have also both sent their kids through the school. If you are considering a part time preschool in the West LA area, definitely contact teacher Bonnie!”

“We love Linwood E. Howe! I have been a parent at this school for almost six years now, and I have seen many changes. We chose it first because it was our home school, but were won over completely by the team of fantastic kindergarten teachers. As our children have gotten older, we have discovered that you can't really go wrong with our teachers - there is a type of teacher for every type of kid, and the teachers work carefully with each other to offer the best transition from grade to grade. In each grade different units are managed by the separate grade level teachers, so you get four for one! This allows our teachers to focus carefully on an area of study, and also prepares our kids for the multiple classrooms of the middle school. The leadership and staff of the school are proactive, vigilant, and most importantly, human. The parent community is generous with their contributions of time and expertise to supplement our kids' learning. Lin Howe has been a great place to have my kids learn not only how to read and add, but how to communicate with people, work and cooperate as a part of a community. ”

“STAR Prep is a great school!! I've been a student here since January 2018, and it's so much better than my old school! STAR tries to help me incorporate my passions into my school work, and is helping me achive my goals for the future. Sometimes the homework can be hard, but we're always able to ask the teachers for help. Every year, at the beginning of the year, the whole school goes on a trip somewhere. However, I have not enjoyed either of the trips I have been on. Luckily, these trips are optional, so I do not plan on going on the trip next year. Also, I am the only girl in my grade. This doesn't really bother me becuase I get along with the boys in my grade, but it is something to bring up. Because of my autism it can be hard for me to ask for help sometimes, but this school is trying to help me with that. The small classes give me more one on one time with teachers, and they can help me understand the material more. - Danielle Broderick, 10th grade”

“I love Dr. Wiley and her amazing staff!! I only wish I would have found her sooner. The knowledge, compassion and desire this center has for my child is far beyond what I have seen anywhere else. This is personal to them, it is more of a family and they have a true love for my/our children. Dr Wiley and her staff take it a step further and are always looking for new ways to help our children build better lives. They have many amazing programs for children about 3 years of age up to teenagers. Plus amazing programs for young adults. Nothing I have seen in my 18 years of working with my son compares to the LA Speech and Language Center! If you want the best for your child this is the place to come to!!!”
