Over the years I've had a number of encounters with them for issues ranging from identity theft, traffic violations, and violent assault. Each time the sheriffs were responsive, efficient, courteous and extremely helpful. The Lomita Sheriffs are the best!

(September 20, 2018, 12:30 pm)I can't give them all starts because I have seen them act both impressively professional and also powerfully rude or sarcastic!
But when it comes to responding to real dangerous situations and emergencies they are 100 percent on top of it and give top priority to it. I've called a few times on different issues, some more disturbance related and have gotten a delayed response time.
however, I called on a dangerous looking man acting crazy and holding a knife waiving it in the air. They responded in about 3 minutes, deputies were on scene and they handled the threat amazingly, so all in all, putting my self in their shoes I can tell they do the best they can with what they got!
In all fairness to the Department and the outstanding deputies, it's also worth notice that the personality of each person wearing that uniform comes across. So in my opinion, if you experience poor service from a deputy it may not be the department policy or the attitude of all, but the lack of professionalism of the person wearing the uniform!
