Don Caine is a master and a specialist. He explained to me over the phone how to operate my Thoren music box properly. He also explained how to do maintenance surgery over the phone. It is a pleasure to encounter a professional who is able to explain in layperson terms how to make something function properly. I like my music box again! With much gratitude.

My name is Christina, I called after hours and left a message. Don called me in the morning and I was able to return his call later that afternoon. My mother gave me a little gesture like doll sitting on a rotating pillow about 10 years ago. My niece broke it like 7 years ago, and I have been unable to fix it. My mother passed away last year, so I’ve taken a renewed interest in the doll. I emailed Don the pictures of what I had and he walked me through being able to fix it. I really needed this today and I really appreciate the time that he spent while I sent him the pictures and while I was working on the music box. We had an older carousel music box that had been overwound and the gear inside had been broken. (The only local guy we found was unwilling to even try to fix it and very dismissive). Then I found Don online and emailed him a picture to see what he could do. He wrote me back a very detailed and thorough email regarding my options to fix it (he was confident he could) but also explained the cost involved in mailing back/forth (we live in Nevada) might not be worth it given the value of the box. Given it was more sentimental than valuable, and since we make regular trips out to CA, we were able to bring it to him, figuring we would drive back to his place the next day to pick it up after a family visit, and instead, spent a pleasant hour with him while we waited and watched him replace the inside mechanism and put it back together! I would highly recommend Don and Music Box Repair Shop Unlimited to anyone wanting quality work at a great price! I will definitely be telling everyone we know to use him for any music box repair!

In April of 2022, I sent Don a Reuge Music box that received river flood water in the August 2016 Louisiana floods. We had cleaned the box as well as we could and dried it out in the house using commercial dehumidifiers. However, the river silt was in the works and we could never get it to sound right. Don put it back to where it played like it did when we bought it decades ago. His communication is excellent, his pricing is fair, and his repair time was prompt. I feel fortunate to have located Music Box Repair Center Unlimited. Don obviously loves his craft and he's exceptionally competent. .

Don provided exceptional customer service. He immediately mailed me a key to my music box bank. When the key did not fit, I sent him a part so he could fabricate a key that fit perfectly! My music box is now happy. Don goes over and above to assist the customer.
