i love this optometry vision center in Walmart. they are always kind and patient and really go beyond to help. thank you for the PD info i needed today. i appreciate it so much.
My son had his eye check by a female who was nice and help him understand his vision problems. She advised more carrot I believe to help. My son love veggies..so that was no big deal. It was so good my husband isn't nervous about his appointment. His really picky. Oh...they also help him choose some nice glasses...they look really good on him. Great work.
I'm not sure what optometrist the other person who reviewed this saw, but my optometrist was female, not male, very professional, courteous, and very intricate in her eye test. We talked about a past head injury which caused a slight detachment/collapse of my retina and was very thorough with her tests to make sure that it hadn't advanced. Glaucoma test, since it runs in my family, etc. All the things included in the test.
Again, very courteous, nice, professional, etc. I have no other words to explain my experience with the optometrist. I was a walk in and they saw me right away, I lost my glasses the previous weekend and had a Monday off so I figured I would go in. Mid afternoon, no wait, fast and because this isn't an actual stand alone office, I didn't even have to ask for my prescription, they gave it to me and I was able to choose any eyeglass center I wanted. Had it been for the optometrist alone, it would be 5 stars.
I opted to get my glasses at Walmart and while the associate was very helpful, and inquired as to what I was looking for, he set me up with some lenses and frames for just under $200. Not really what I wanted to spend as I don't use my glasses on a daily basis and only need them for night driving. I opted to look around on my own, found some $9.99 frames that fit my head, chose the plastic lenses and could have gotten out for under $50, but opted to go for the anti-glare coating and got out for $88. He was a little persistent on up-selling, and I understand that this may be part of the job, but I'm not an up-sell kind of customer and think that salesmen should be able to read that off of customers. Especially when the customer is saying "No. No thanks. I don't need fashionable frames, I just use them for driving. etc. etc."
The salesmen finally let up, he put up a good fight and I'll give him credit for that. He was attempting to do his job well, but you can really get away with spending a lot less if you look around. A lot of the cheaper frames are similar in look and style to the $70 - $100+ frames. The only thing with the salesmen was that he wore his emotions on his sleeve and I could tell by the dejected look on his face that he was upset that he couldn't up-sell. If I were a weaker personality, he really could have gotten me to spend more, and while part of the job - if a customer tells you they want to spend less, I don't think it should be your job to change their mind. Instead it should be your job to say "You got it, let's see what we can do for you." this is the only reason they lose 1 star, of what could have been a 5 star experience all around.
