If you’re looking for a clean, calming experience that exudes Southern California charm then look no further. It’s all about the personal touches - from staff opening the door as you approach to welcome you, fresh homemade baked cookies by your bedside, and everything in between - this place is all that and more.
The breakfast was fantastic and the famed homemade granola lives up to all the hype. I came for a night to take a breath, walk the beach and to relax. I left feeling rested and restored. For those of us with busy lives, it’s wonderful to feel taken care of. Thank you!!

We are on our honeymoon and this place is a home away from home. A place you must stay if you are visiting Santa Monica. The staff are incredible, the food was amazing (Dominique's granola is out of this world!) and we wish we booked to stay longer! You won't find a better place to stay. Thank you!

A real gem in the Los Angeles area
I was looking for a stage on the bike tour from Vancouver BC to San Diego and searched the Internet under the keyword "boutique hotel" for private accommodation as opposed to a hotel chain. This hotel more than exceeded my expectations! The location in a side street a few 100 yards from the beach is wonderfully quiet in a middle-class residential area. The house itself is an old villa, which has been lovingly and comprehensively restored and shows a stylish and very personal touch on every corner. This home truly has style. You can tell from the warm and personal welcome. The room was kept in light colors with a light-flooded bay window with a wide window front; the bathroom original and sparkling clean; a wide, old desk with stable wifi and the excellently comfortable bed with crisp linen. All in all, I couldn't believe I was staying in the greater Los Angeles area - if I had woken up in an English garden setting I wouldn't have been surprised. To top it all off, a rich breakfast with homemade hot dishes is served in the morning. There is also a small extra garage in the yard for bikes. I felt very comfortable in the house and would have liked to have stayed longer, also to be able to better appreciate the cozy lounge with the wine and cheese tasting in the afternoon. If I'm in the area again, I will definitely stay here.

Two words sum up this charming guest house - Utterly Superb!
My son and I chose to commence our holiday in California at this wonderful location and it was the perfect way to begin. After a long and tiring journey we were warmly welcomed by friendly staff and a comfortable, clean and well presented room. After a perfect night’s sleep we felt refreshed and ready for our adventures. Breakfast was fantastic with delicious home cooked dishes (I still want the recipe for the homemade granola too!). The location is perfect for exploring and the beach is a short walk, the house is charming with period decor carefully and tastefully updated and appointed with modern amenities. I loved the piped classical music which gave a very calm atmosphere.
The staff were attentive to our needs and ever friendly, providing great local knowledge to enhance our sightseeing and at all times my son and I felt welcomed. My only regret during our 2 night stay was that we were too busy to indulge in the cheese and wine served in the afternoon but judging by the wonderful homemade cookies and sweet treats left out for us, I have no doubt it would have been equally sensational!
I cannot rate this guest house highly enough, in a world of sterile concrete and steel hotels which put business efficiency and guest turnaround before customer experience, this location provides the perfect and proper way to relax and unwind on vacation. I would (and will) definitely return in future.
Thank you so very much to Violetta, Delaney and all your kind staff, you made the first 2 days of our American adventure the perfect welcoming experience!!
