This place oozes with so much history of this mountain community. The best kept secret in madera county. Everyone should go check it out.
This is in an 100+ year old home. A local woman & her husband decided to make it a museum of the local town history. The furnishings are authentic and many old pictures of days gone past. They also revamped a old caboose and put it on a small strip of railroad tracks. Kids from the local K-8 school got to drive some of the rail nails in the tracks. It's well done and kept in good condition. Open on Sundays.
The Raymond Museum really hosted a great Raymond Parade day event. Live music and booths with raffles and food! I had no idea how the cozy a caboose was until we visited the perfectly revitalized red caboose at the museum. The museum itself is alive with the rich history of the region with a focus on the daily lives of the inhabitants. We will be back! Fun parade too! Third Saturday in April every year.
