“From the get-go, Alta Mira exceeded our expectations. It was a worrisome process for our family trying to find a place for my cousin to recover from his drug addiction and his depression. The staff was so compassionate and informative. In an already traumatic time, they helped us through the process with patience and care. We learned a great deal during their 4 day family workshop when we visited the beautiful facility ourselves. I would love to stay there myself! Alta Mira has a full menu of treatment options far and beyond what the other treatment centers we looked into offered. He was able to benefit from the doctors, the therapists, the neuropsychological testing, and the multi day workshop intensives. They also have awesome options like massage, acupuncture, meditation, and adventure therapies. I truly believe that in order for one to heal, they must surrender to the methods being used by trained professionals. I can’t even count how many times my family gave into his rationalizations for his drug use. I was at my wit's end. I am so glad this time, it stuck. Alta Mira doesn't cater to the source of the addiction in such that they heavily medicate the person, quite the opposite! This had been a recurring problem when trying to get him help. Instead, the staff at Alta Mira helped him dive deep into himself and identify the past triggers that perpetuated his use and gave him tools and ways to circumvent his usual behavior that feeds his addiction. They worked with him to resolve his past trauma and to get to the core of why he became addicted. Four times a year they have a complimentary 2 day workshop for their alumni. My cousin keeps taking these workshops and learning from them. We are so, so grateful to have him back and in a position where he no longer has to suffer the same way again.”

“I organized a group trip to McEvoy and they did not disappoint. We were escorted up the hill to their old milk/feed barn that overlooks the rolling hills of the property. We were given a little history lesson, as well as given the proper technique to taste olive oil (it’s fun I promise). Staff was welcoming and encouraging - let us ask questions and mix and mingle among the vines (we also did a wine tasting). Highly recommend for corporate or large groups that you want to impress or make feel special!”

“I was in search of a new dentist after university and relocating to San Francisco. It had been a few years since my last checkup but Dr. Subramanian and her team were welcoming, and eased my nerves instantly. During my first appointment I asked Dr. Subramanian if she could refer me to an Orthodontist in the area as I was hoping to get Invisalign to fix a slight shift in teeth. It had been over 10 years since I had braces, and I thought now would be the perfect time to get it since I was WFH. To my delight, she offered Invisalign. The treatment was quick, took around 3 months total with aligners and I am so pleased with my new smile and confidence I've gained. The only regret was not doing it sooner. If you have any hesitations, I assure you to go for it! No better team in the area to help you achieve what you're looking for!”

The goods are beautifully collected and displayed, the quality is top, the staff is kind and willing to help or let you browse unbothered. The visual and sensory experience is a delight. I had a great visit and came home with a spectacular piece of Fermob outdoor furniture perfect for my SF view deck, Caitlin helped me get in my Prius and I will enjoy this piece forever, and will be a devoted patron of this place for that long too. “A local, and lovely knitting store just opened in downtown Tiburon, CA. Filled with a rich selection of yarns in every possible color, knitting needles, yarn wash, classes and workshops, and almost everything else knitting related. There are three sitting / knitting areas, the front window, the back alcove, and the community room. Light, bright, and airy, the space is as lovely as the helpful staff. $$$ out of $$$$$ expensive. Street parking, or an adjacent paid lot. Clean, gender neutral bathroom. Wheelchair accessible. I would recommend Knit House on Main, in Tiburon, CA.”

“Was in a pretty bad accident, and the officers who responded to the accident and arrived within minutes were are extremely friendly, our car is a potential total loss, and while we were waiting for our ride, in the drizzling cold on sears point road, Officer Haven, offered to drive us home. Honestly if i could give this officer a virtual hug I would, after what took place my mom and I were just disoriented and trying to make sense of everything that had just occurred, the officers were all amazing, thoughtful and helpful! “A little bit out of the way between San Rafael and Larkspur Landing, this is a kitchen/restaurant supply place. I stopped by to replace some wine glasses due to breakage. I took an old one along so as to pick out the same size one. They tend to have the same selection year after year. Not fancy, just generic wine glasses. The same with plates, serving ware, napkins. This is a large space but does not feel like a warehouse. Run by a family who are most welcoming and friendly, this is a great place to stock up on basic kitchen supplies for the cabin, rental unit as well as home.”

“Great little place for salad and sangria with outdoor seating! You can tell this is family-owned. The staff cares a lot about your experience. Started with the red sangria which was nice and light and refreshing. Then a small Mediterranean salad - perfect with all the Greek ingredients plus stuffed grape leaves and eggplant. My friend got the Greek salad. Everything was very good and the service was friendly and efficient!”
