Thrilled we found this hidden gem as we were looking for a lunch spot before visiting Bouchaine Vinyards and this popped up on google. So happy it did. Food was spectacular- so delicious. Service was phenomenal, everyone was so attentive and our server Luis is super friendly and gave us some great recommendations.
Amazing service and outstanding menu. The only problem was we ordered too much food because everything sounded so delicious and it was. Bear did not disappoint we will be going back. The Short Rib, New Potatoes, and Sourdough ice cream are must haves!
Posh eatery in a luxury resort lives up to the Napa Valley fine dining standards and then some. Impeccable service from Levi at the bar! Ate my outstanding burger before I got a pic. Great places inside and out to enjoy the serene ambiance from very private nooks, booths, tables . Took my cocktail outside by the fire. Great place for an impressive date!
This past week we (August 2022) we stayed at the resort as a guest and went to Bear a few times for breakfast, lunch and dessert. Service was great and the food even better.
It was our honeymoon and they gave us free dessert during our lunch as we waited for our room to be ready - a nice touch to start off the trip.
We were there Monday - early Friday so the place never had more than a handful of different tables filled at a time, but the ambiance was still great. We sat on the patio each time - great decor/view.
We tried the grange salad, cheese board, poached eggs (breakfast), steak & eggs (breakfast), grilled ice cream and espresso martinis.
Bear is a brand new Californian farm-to-table cuisine within the brand new Stanly Ranch resort. Bear has all the right ingredients to start making a mark. A swanky, rustic industrial designed interior, fabulous plates and silverware, and most importantly an honest farm-to-table food line-up that is cooked with care. You can definitely feel the freshness in all the ingredients, especially the veggies. The dishes are put together without overpowering sauce or garnish. I would say they're even on the blander side, very down-to-earth presentation but again, each plate is filled with heartiness.
We had a great time at dinner. Although the kitchen and staff felt a bit "new" as they were getting to know one another and work together, they pulled off a great meal.
Our favorite was the crispy rice (this is a must-have) and the scallops. Both had their unique twist to the expected norms in a fabulous way.
Really curious how Bear starts to shape up as the resort starts to get utilized more. Would love to see this place "mature" in a delicious way.
My message to the chef: "Be confident! You're awesome."
Reduced 1 star due to the high price compared to overall value.
