Mitchell is a world-class teacher.
He's professional, knowledgeable, experienced, supportive, and patient.
Each session is curated to your interests and talent so lessons never feel like an impossible chore. I've taken about a year's worth of lessons, and based on my growth, I only wish I started sooner. Youtube doesn't beat personal feedback or real-time answers to questions on theory and technique. Guitar lessons with Mitchell have become one of my favorite parts of the week.

I have taken music lessons in the past but Guitar Lessons OC with Mitchell Townsend (about one year in) are the best. His extensive performing experience and innate musical sensibility shine through with back-up demonstrations to provide background framework while you focus on having fun making music. Spoiler alert: he has a talent for zooming in and noting tiny aspects of your technique that are preventing you getting the most out of a piece! MT always enthusiastic to support your musical aspirations.

Don’t think twice and book your lessons now! I have been working with Mitchell for over a year and plan on continuing my journey towards becoming a better guitarist/musician. Mitchell is extremely patient and has a clear understanding on how to take your playing to another level. He is a very knowledgeable musician and has many years of studio and touring experience. He has been able to answer all my questions whether they pertain to technique, theory, strumming, gear, studio, and touring upon many more. I can easily say that I made the right choice in choosing Mitchell because he has made me a better player and being able to watch a player of his caliber has been inspiring as well. You will not put your guitar down once you start with Mitchell! Do it!

Mitchell is the best. I've been playing guitar poorly for 30 years. I started taking lessons with Mitchell in August 2019. In the last few months my playing has improved more than the 30 previous years combined.

Mitchell has taught me techniques such as hammer-ons and pull-offs that I never knew I needed to learn. Triads, inversions, whatever you want to learn he will teach you. Most importantly Mitchell remembers learning these techniques himself which allows him to teach them to you in a more efficient manner.
