Huntington Central Park

Huntington Central Park is a respite from the suburban world, with shade trees, walking paths and the small lake.
I was skeptical to find such a large open and shaded green space within the ‘burbs, near the ocean, until I checked out this beautiful place!
For locals, it’s like a nice extension of their back yards. For visitors (especially from inland cities), it’s one more natural place to go besides the beach, when seeking to escape the heat, with just a short drive to that cooler coastal air!
Update on the little lake, with addition of a long wooden deck pathway with railing!
There’s a disk golf course between the lake and Goldenwest Street, just beyond the newer walkway.
Also to the southeast end of the lake is an equestrian park.
A fairly large dog park is at the southeast end of the lake, just off of Edwards Street.
Entrances to this side of Huntington Central Park with available free parking are accessed off of Edwards Street, Central Park Drive or Inlet Drive. There’s also some access from the Goldenwest Street side.
For the sake of simplicity, this review is with the west portion of Huntington Central Park, separated by Goldenwest drive.

Beautiful park to spend a nice a relaxing day! The secret garden in there is so beautiful and my princess Belle have a lots of fun running behind the squirrels!!

Awesome park with a really cool jungle gym. There is plenty of parking and its free. Public bathrooms too. There is a nice lake to fish in. A bridge was recently built on the side but it is very stinky around there. Bird poop all covered along the rails, and it smells strongly of pee. You may see dead fish on the edge and lots of ducks.

Free parking and the park is quite big. There is a nature center inside the park but only opens on Friday and Saturday.

Been going to Central Park for years. I was surprised the water level was higher than I've ever seen it but the time of year is probably why. I saw a huge variety of birds and got some great pictures. I had photographed some friends engagement photo three days before and wanted to go there since I saw a variety of birds. I've shared a few pictures here. Hope you enjoy. It's a beautiful park. For those with dogs there's the Park Bench cafe which allows you go eat with your dog next to you and they even have food. So much to do there with the library, theater, children play area and sports complex. I highly recommend it to those who want to see a beautiful place amidst a huge city.
