I had a fairly easy and low-risk pregnancy, but they closely monitored even the smallest of symptoms and were always extremely prompt with communicating about appointments, lab results, and anything else relating to my care. Sarah ended up delivering our daughter and when I went into labor I was so thrilled that she was our assigned midwife. During my birthing time, she quietly stood by and monitored while allowing me to follow my body’s cues and let nature take its course. Sarah never told me to push or gave any direction unless I asked, and every time I did have a question, her answer was “if it feels right to you.” Her trust in me and confidence in my body to do what it was supposed to do made my birth experience feel so safe and empowering at the same time. She was diligent with following up after the birth, continually monitoring any symptoms and making sure I was healing well. I had told the staff throughout the months leading up to the birth that I wanted a peaceful and natural birth experience, and that was exactly what we achieved thanks to Sarah and all of the staff at SCM.
