I came in May 2022 with a torn ACL and meniscus very distraught and discouraged that I may never lifeguard, swim, run, or lift weights the same again. All thanks to Kevin and Marcos, with pre rehab before surgery and post rehab I was able to swim 2 months after my surgery! In this picture Kevin and I completed a run/swim event as a milestone in my recovery. “Dr. Yap is truly one of a kind. I called at least eight different GI offices to schedule an appointment for an urgent problem my dad was having. All of them were booked out 2-3 months. Dr. Yap personally texted me to promptly set up an appointment and even pre-booked an endoscopy and colonoscopy. My dad was very pleased by his bedside manner and compassion. I texted Dr. Yap at 10:30 pm on a Thursday night to get biopsy results, and to my surprise, he texted me screenshots of chart notes and biopsy results right away. I have never known a doctor to act that promptly with patient messages. I have found my family's GI doctor for life. We will never see anyone else.”

“My husband and I are so happy that we chose South Coast Midwifery for the birth of our daughter. As first time parents, we were clueless and nervous about the birth process and from the first day we visited SCM we were put instantly at ease and knew it was the right fit. All of the midwives and staff were kind, friendly, so attentive and seemed so invested in my health and pregnancy journey. I had a fairly easy and low-risk pregnancy, but they closely monitored even the smallest of symptoms and were always extremely prompt with communicating about appointments, lab results, and anything else relating to my care. Sarah ended up delivering our daughter and when I went into labor I was so thrilled that she was our assigned midwife. During my birthing time, she quietly stood by and monitored while allowing me to follow my body’s cues and let nature take its course. Sarah never told me to push or gave any direction unless I asked, and every time I did have a question, her answer was “if it feels right to you.” Her trust in me and confidence in my body to do what it was supposed to do made my birth experience feel so safe and empowering at the same time. She was diligent with following up after the birth, continually monitoring any symptoms and making sure I was healing well. I had told the staff throughout the months leading up to the birth that I wanted a peaceful and natural birth experience, and that was exactly what we achieved thanks to Sarah and all of the staff at SCM.
