“Gorgeous botanical gardens with a large variety of tropical plants, ferns, orchids and fuchsia, as well as cactus and succulents. The docents lead very informative tours, well worth doing. Admission is $5 and parking is free in their parking lot, although their parking lot does fill up on weekends by about 11 am, so get there by 10:30 am on weekends to get a spot, otherwise you will be hunting for 2-hour parking spots on the street.”

“My boyfriend and I stopped by the Park as a last minute decision, so my two year old son could let some energy out. The playground has a great variety of equipment for all children. It was clean and well kept, and restrooms on site. Everyone were happy, nice, and all the other children in the park played amazingly well together. A+”

“What a spectacular hiking path It’s very busy with cars parked on the side streets and people finding their favorite paths. There are so many routes filled with families, hikers and walkers. The view is amazing ! You can see Catalina island and gorgeous ocean views. The meetup sunrise to sunset hikers often have hikes here. Check out their meetup schedule. It has a kids playground with a view of the ocean. You can see the boats on the way to Long Beach and understand the delays of the supply chain. Thank goodness that’s getting better. Enjoy every moment and remember to bring water and hydrate often.”

“Great, well-maintained trail. I took my mountain bike there for the first time and missed the sign at the Poppy Ave entrance that the trail was one-way. But the neighborhood Karen helped me realize my mistake and even took my picture to make sure I didn’t make that mistake again. If you’re a safe cyclist who can moderate speed and follow the one way, it’s a wonderful trail. Just don’t expect the local hikers to welcome you.”

“We had such a great time joining participating in the Bird walk guided tour lead by OC Park ranger Nathan. His passion on the subject matter and his knowledge of the birds in the area made the entire program interesting. Highly recommended. Be sure to check website for future tour dates.”

“Beautiful Open space for biking, running, hiking, lounging etc. If U make it to the Marina side U can rent Kayaks and Paddle boards as well. Just an all around awesome, tranquil space right in the middle of the city. I have explored quite a few sides of it and each section has something a lil different. Look at your Map to pinpoint the different jump of spots. Primary area is off of University/Irvine but there are other "trail heads" all around.”

“One of my favorite beaches in all of Southern California. 4 stars instead of 5 because any time the place is busy, parking ranges from hard to impossible. The main parking is across PCH from the beach, so be ready for a walk that’s close to half a mile just to get to the beach. Still, one of the most beautiful beaches in the entire state. If you have the ability to, book one of their beach cottages for one of the most amazing beachfront lodgings available in Southern California.”

“This place is rarely packed and provides the best sunsets. They have cottages to stay in but you’ll need to book about 6 months in advance and there are many public restrooms that are well kept and clean. If any beach is our go to, Crystal Cove is it.”

“The public access tunnel provides access to the Crystal Cove beach and to the Historic District from the parking lot Los Trancos. The tunnel passes under the Pacific Coast Highway and is a nice alternative to taking the shuttle. The tunnel is well maintained and well lit. Paintings made by local volunteers/students cover the inner walls of the tunnel. The echo inside the tunnel is quite interesting and may make for great sound experiments.”

“This place is pretty cool and not crowded whatsoever. The only thing is that when they say the trail down the beach is steep... they're not kidding around. Hauling all your stuff down is a piece of cake. Hauling it all back up is an entirely different story. It's a nice beach but dont expect to swim, body board, or boogie board. There's a bunch of rocks that are in your direct path. Overall, great place recommended by a family member.”

“A nice experience seeing the past in the old structures, beach bungalows, and of course the beach. Good food, fairly spendy, parking $15! I suppose to hold down the crowds or keep the low earners away.”

“This is a great place to see a little piece of what the coast looked like many years ago. Be mindful of the wildlife, there are an abundance of rattlesnakes. I have seen several crossing the boardwalk. Be sure to wear appropriate footwear. I can hardly wait to return!”

“Very nice! Great for walking around. Scenic!Dolphins were spotted. Lunch was good. There is a little cave. But as usual BEWARE, set your car alarm and hide valuables. One of the cars we had got the lock broken and they went through the car. Nothing was really in the car to take but still.”
