A nice little getaway from Los Angeles even though it's still in the county. Steep mountains so make sure your car can make it up the incline. Also, bring warm clothes as it gets chilly in the mountains.
Still by far one of the most beautiful national Forest to me, despite what the fires set by idiots have done to this natural beauty! Highly recommended for a weekend family hiking/camping getaway, there so many trails and beautiful hidden waterfalls/streams. I would just recommend bug spray because there are a bunch of dragonflies and other insects. Also be very aware because there are bears there!
Angeles National Forest is a paradise for nature enthusiast. It is only less than an hour away from LA. A perfect get away to do hiking and be in nature. You can easily spend a whole day here. Overall, I had a good experience hiking all the way to the top.
Love coming here for some out door hiking experience. I like to bring extra stuff and supplies in case my hike take a little too long to come back to the car. Also for emergency purposes if we see someone in need of help or something.
We hiked for two and a half hours and didn't reach the end of a trail. There is so much to do! I only wish there was a map somewhere so we knew what we were getting ourselves into. The trails are easy to see and beautiful. It's very nice to be able to drive an hour outside the city and find such beauty. If we lived in LA we would definitely be going again!
The Angeles National Forest is located within an hour's drive for more than 20 million people who live in the Greater Los Angeles area, and provides a wealth of recreation opportunities.
