“There's a new driver named Joseph. He is so sweet, a real gentleman. Always on time to each stop, also apologizes to people even though he is running a little behind. He's really easy on the brakes! You have any questions... HE WILL ANSWER THEM best to his knowledge, if he doesn't know, he recommends to call the TART office. If you are concerned on getting to a transferred bus, he calls that bus immediately to let them know he has passengers! One time I was hidden behind some cars at a stop in Carnelian Bay... he saw me at the very last second. When he pulled over to the safest spot, he apologized and gave such a great deal! He said "I don't like to make people run to my bus for my mistake especially ones who were on time"... so he gave me an option of a free ride or a half off all day pass ($1.75 senior, youth, disabled discount). Like i said, a real gentleman. Always keeps a positive attitude, he asks about your day, and makes you laugh. I feel very safe being in his bus! He knows everyone's stop even when they are in a deep slumber. I hope he stays for a long time, we need good drivers like this young man! September 2020 Update: Joseph contacted me through a private message and asked me to take down this review. He expressed that he shouldn't be praised and that it takes team work at T.A.R.T. I lied to him that I'll delete this review. I don't understand why he just doesn't take the compliment of doing a great job.”

“We spent my 60th birthday here in late March. My wife mentioned this only briefly in making reservations because she wanted to clarify if we could be assured an indoor table (COVID restrictions had just eased up). We got the table, it was perfect with a view of the room but still set back and up above the floor. The first greeting we got when we were seated included two complimentary glasses of champagne. I don’t need to elaborate on how well the dishes were presented and how delicious they were: Traci Desjardins apparently works very closely with the kitchen to ensure high quality. The pacing was great, the waiter attentive and intuitive but never cloying. We ordered dessert, it was delicious as well, of course...and when we asked for the bill we saw the dessert turned out to be on the House - on account of my birthday! I was always fine with the fact that I was turning 60, but Manzanita made it the kind of special occasion I’d look back on with joy forever. Just remembering all this makes me want to return for any and every milestone event.”
