This is a beautiful home that has a long history on the mountain. It's almost historical and the new owners, it seems have embraced the quaint timeless vibe of the place and made it even better. Newly remolded while keeping that old mountain cabin charm. I have stayed at many places in g my this village, but this one was the best yet. I felt like I was back in my childhood mountain cabin home again. Everything about this place and the owners goes above and beyond.
A last-minute decision, we were fortunate to discover that River Rock Retreat was available when we wanted to get away. Owner Gary Agner could not have been more gracious and accommodating. The cabin is warm, cozy and comfortable; beautifully, tastefully upgraded, but still retaining what now is considered "vintage" charm. While located on the main highway leading into town, it is set back on the property and well-enough insulated that traffic noise was not significant. Our stay was all too short and we hope to return with family members in the not-too-distant future.
Gary was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. The cabin is roomy, clean and very cozy. Large driveway made parking and unloading our things very easy and safe. We enjoyed the fireplace which was stocked with plenty of wood for the night. Roomy kitchen with everything we needed. It was a comfortable and wonderful weekend for us (3 small children included). We definitely recommend and will stay again in the future. Thank you Gary.
This house felt like our own cozy home! With 3 bedrooms, 2 large bathrooms, a fully-stocked kitchen, dining room and living room with cozy fireplace we had plenty of room to enjoy each other and to have solitude when we wanted. Two tv's and internet kept us connected to the outside world.
We could walk to town or the coffee spot right down the street.
Every detail was perfect... in fact, this as the BEST vrbo that we've stayed in... and that's saying sometime since we travel a lot.
Our host Gary replied immediately and was truly welcoming.
It truly is a perfect retreat in the wonderful mountain town! of Idyllwild!
