Both my boys had a wonderful Christian experience at this camp. The staff was awesome. The grounds were beautiful. The food was great. Can't wait for them to go back next year! Thank you!
I would call this a 5 star experience for an Idyllwild camp. I have also been at Emerson camp in Idyllwild and this, thankfully, was not nearly as dusty. We stayed in the Creekside Cabins. I was happy to have electricity and the cabins stayed cooler than the outdoor temperature. Also pictured is the bathroom sinks to give you an idea. It is a fairly typical camp bathroom experience except they kept it cleaner than some camps I have been to. The food was slightly better than similar camps I have been at and a few food items were actually quite good (beignets for breakfast were a standout). The paint ball course had great terrain and obstacles and running short segments was a great approach. We also did archery and hatchet throwing with the "Hatchet Hunk" as he was labeled by some of our campers. Pool, mud pit, hiking, snack shack. The staff was really pleasant and contributed to a great experience (shout out to our snack shack crew who made about 40 milkshakes for us). Thank you for having us.
Loved our time at this camp! We brought our youth group of about 60 and had an absolute blast. The activity options were great, my students especially loved paintball and the ropes course. The food wasn't blow-your-socks-off amazing, but it was waaaay better than typical "camp food." The full meals for breakfast, dinner AND LUNCH were much appreciated. The facilities could use a facelift, certainly some aspects of the camp are a little....rustic....but nothing too distracting at all. And the cabins/bathrooms were clean, which is important to me.
I didn't have too much interaction with the staff, but when I did, they were very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back!
I have been going to Idyllwild Pines for 6 years now, usually twice a year. They are my all time favorite camp. They serve with grace and humility. They supply AWESOME adventures for our youth group, and beautiful facilities for our Men's retreat. They have 56 gorgeous acres, and I cant wait to see them again soon:-) Their paintball course is my favorite in California!!! The pool and water-slide are phenomenal! If you're looking for a great camp and magnificent experience, look no further!!!
Idyllwild Pines Camp was chosen as the location for our church's recent men's retreat. We spent 3 days, 2 nights at the camp. Our experience was so positive, we are booked again at Idyllwild Pines for our next men's retreat. Our speakers and leaders loved staying in the little VIP cabins which have a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living room with very comfortable furniture. Each VIP has a mountain themed decor. I enjoyed staying in Emerson Lodge, which is a fantastic historic building on the camp. Others stayed in the dorm type buildings which are not that special, but do provide excellent dorm style accommodations. The food was fantastic, considering it is "camp food". They even had steak for dinner one night. Love the fresh cookies! Huge property. Lots to do: paint ball, hiking, disc golf, 2 pickle ball courts, to name a few things. Beautiful trail along Strawberry Creek. I'm glad our men's retreat will be going back. Oh, and we found the staff to be super accommodating, friendly and professional the entire time.
